Virigin Australia to Hawaii??

What's the likelihood that Virgin Australia will ever add Hawaii as a destination in its own right (not as a code-share destination)?

Presently you've got QF flying tired-old 767's, Jetstar with its mediocre service and HA with a combination of both!

It certainly seem to be one of those routes where Virgin could excel especially given the increasing demand by Australians wanting to fly there.

There's also Air Australia.

I think Virgin would need to acquire a few more planes before it contemplated going there.

NZ via AKL too... BUT - like QF and HA (and Air Australia) it is older/less competitive equipment... (763)

Note Air Australia J class says seating with "up to 48"" pitch... not terribly impressive for a new product?

Hawaiian Airlines earn miles on Velocity too, just not status.

Holiday destinations like Hawaii don't make airlines profit so not likely in my opinion.
