0 for 3 on power outlets

Unlike some others here, I've yet to have an issue with RED. Yes, it's slow but I rarely lost satellite signal and the map seemed to work consistently.

On the other hand, I'm 0 for 3 on working power outlets. In 2 of 3 cases, the little green light next to the outlet was on but my AC adapter never seemed to be getting power. In the 3rd case, the light wasn't on. In this last case, I asked an FA who said she would "reset the system" but we began our descent before she was able to get to anything.

Anyone else having luck with the power outlets? Method for getting it to work/asking for help?

Perhaps you are using a device that draws too much power. I know I have had trouble with my Macbook Pro's power brick on other airlines.

I'm familiar with the power restrictions on in-flight power. Usually, it will either charge or power a device but not both. In this case, the green light on my Dell power adapter wouldn't even light.

Also, if that was the case, I'd think VX would be in trouble for false advertising. Hair dryers use WAY more power than laptops and they have those signs all over the place...

I did fine powering up my laptop (Apple MacBook) on "California Dreaming" this weekend...

what model of Dell was it? some of the new giant laptops use quite a bit of power... (but you probably wouldn't have tried to unfold one in flight, I guess.)

No issues powering my MacBook Pro 17" using 110v and the USB works great for iPod and iPhone on all my flights.

Maybe take another plug in device (eg. phone charger) and "test" the plugs. That should tell you if it is the plug or if your charger doesn't like the VX juice (perhaps it is lower wattage, slightly different frequency - if that makes a difference??). My guess is that an aircraft AC power supply comes from an inverter and is a square wave...

Has your charger been picky with it's power supply in the past? I'm guessing you always plug it into a wall, right?

Agreed. Try something else that needs a plug. It might be that one adapter. Power ports have been pretty consistent on VX so far. If you are unlucky enough to get a port that's out, make sure the FA notes it for maint.
