Agree with your decision. I fly transcon almost once a week, status on every US airline and EXP on AA, so I know the products, and I would take VX over CO for $300 more without a question. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Okay....

How would you compare VX F against UA p.s. C??? Cause to me they sound VERY similiar...and yes I'm talking about Row 9! |

Very much looking forward to VX for the IAD-SFO trip, the only thing that turns me off VX is lack of lounge access. Yes you can pay to access a few lounges but the IAD one isn't open at the time I am flying out.
Very good :) Which is why I started this thread, for those exact questions. VX will cost me $1,615 for 2 people CO will cost me $1,319 for 2 people So about $350 in Aussie $$ and I can't justify that for a better seat really. Added to that The lounge at LAS really sold me on CO Better seat - 4hr 50 flight, not too bad but will probably spend 60 mins in the lounge Should have direct TV on CO so same same Better meal - It's all much the same As suggested I'll keep the $350 and spend it elsewhere on a nice meal ^ One more question F food on VX is small from all reports, but you can get extra food from Y for free ??? |

I'd be interested in comparisons with:
CO BusinessFirst AA American Flagship Service (762 J/F) DL Business Elite (it appears DL has the same Recaros as VX does) (I tried getting 762 J LAX-JFK last summer so I could do a comparison... but ended up with a last-minute sub of a 752, with what I am told is the worst domestic F hard product in the AA fleet. I'd have to agree- the AA 752 recliners are worse on my lower back than AS's 738 F seating transcon. Obviously VX F blows this away.) |

CO was and still is $1,289.40 for two VX was $1,615.42 for TWO This was for travel in mid Feb so not sure what dates you are picking! |

I'm interested in hearing this, too. We already have a posting that does this (linked from the FAQ), but it would be good to get another take.
Looking at seat maps now I have just realized that VX first and UA PS business have the same seat pitch and seat width. WOW - I am going to love VX then as the seat on UA is pretty good for a domestic product. Why I wouldn't fly UA again. Well the planes just feel old, the old IFE provided with the annoying DVD type player device. It's annoying as it jumps around and during turbulence it can fall off your tray table. For LAX-JFK or a similar route UA want $1137 EACH which is ALOT more than VX, CO for a inferior product. For me they don't fly PS on LAS-New York so it was between CO and VX, then once I read so many good reviews of VX first it was a no brainer! Here in a Australia we have a good FF program run by Virgin Blue which is our 2nd largest domestic airline. In the next few weeks I should be able to earn FF miles/status credits on VX for use on Virgin Blue here in Australia as well. If so then that is a big ^^^ They just have about a month to announce it now, but I know it was/is scheduled for early in the first Quarter of 2010 :) |

daily flight. ewr -las actually 1338 in z first.
I have searched many dates in Feb for Z class and LAS-EWR OR EWR-LAS is $659 + $10 taxes or something.... I am only talking about a one way fare though NOT return. |

As I might be spending more time in the very near future flying in & out of LAS, & as much as I WANT to fly VX, it would be a hard choice over CO now that they are in the *A. Given that CO & UA are about to start reciprical upgrades (+ the 100% mileage bonus I get being 1K) it'd by awfully tough for me to NOT fly them )-: |
Yes that is a good point, but for me back home in Australia *A doesn't really mean much for domestic flights which I take alot of now.
Virgin Blue as our 2nd biggest domestic airline is pretty good here and I fly them mostly. I am flying V Australia to/from the USA in a few weeks, nice new 777-300ERs :) I am now fly VX for all but 2 flights in the USA I am really really hoping the VX flights will earn me miles/status on Virgin Blue here! Would be a BIG bonus! |
