ItsEasy Passport & Visa App
I need to renewal my passport for an international trip later this year (passport expires in 1/25).
I cannot afford to return to VisaHQ as this is now treated as a personal expense and their rates are rather high. Using USPS seems straightforward, but I have wondered if there would be fewer problems if I got outside help. The ItsEasy Passport and Visa App seems straightforward with minimal costs involved (roughly $40). I have seen various reviews, but they are so positive or negative, I would prefer to hear from this forum. |

Current processing times are under two weeks for expedited renewal applications and three weeks or so for standard processing. |
It’s up to you if it’s worth spending $40 to have someone else put your paperwork in an envelope and mail it to the passport office instead of doing it yourself. I sent my renewal form and expiring passport out in mid-January (non expedited) and received my new passport 5 weeks later. Expedited processing takes ~3 weeks. I did use delivery confirmation so that cost an extra $2.00!

USPS does not allow smartphone selfies so that would mean paying Walgreen's for their three-step process. It was the possibility of making a mistake that was my greatest concern but perhaps this app does not carefully review all the data. |

I understand what you are saying but we moved recently from another state, and I cannot find appropriate envelopes and stamps.

You are making this ten times more complex than it is. You go to Walgreens or CVS or FedEx/Kinkos, pay them $15 to have them take two passport photos which you get right away. You fill out the form on the State Dept website, print it, sign it, staple one of your photos to it, include a check for your application fee, and mail it off.
What on earth does "can't find appropriate envelopes or stamps" mean? Did they disappear from the earth? Just go to the post office and put it in a priority mail envelope, which gives you a tracking number anyway. It really isn't hard. |
