LHR - JFK -MBJ (visa necessities)

Hi All , Greetings .

I didn't know which sub forum to place this topic so apologies if its the wrong one .
i need some information regarding booking a flight from Uk to jamaica via New york .

can i get a visa from the uk to the us and travel in & out of the US to Jamaica ? (i dont require visa for jamaica as UK Citizen )
id like to spend a week or so in NYC prior to travelling to Jamaica & the same on the way back to UK with maybe a week or so also during xmas time .
i usually fly straight to jamaica for the winter months but would like to break up my holiday with a little sight seeing of new york city .
As a born & bred Londoner the tranquillity of beach life starts getting to me after a while & as such need a bit of hustle bustle city life to keep me going .

Basically , Can i get a 3 month visa to the US ,book an airbnb for a week while im in the states, fly out to Jamaica & fly back into US Spend a week before returning home to the UK ?

is this possible ?

Cheers John

Yes. This is totally feasible and normal. You don't need a "3-month visa" for the US. As a UK citizen, you just need an approved ESTA to board your flight to the US, (unless you think you'd be ineligible for one, in which case you'll need to get a regular tourist visa and visit a US consulate). It's valid for 2 years, so you don't need a new one on the way back from MBJ.

Welcome to FlyerTalk, juneplum.

While you could, of course, stop over in NYC in both directions, you could also -- if desired -- stop over in NYC in one direction, and in a different city (BOS? ATL? MCO?) in a different direction.
