United does it again!
Northwest tollway was hell into ORD this morning. Got to the gate 15 minutes before my SLC flight's departure. I tell the story to the gate agent and she says "Here this one's on me" and upgrades me to first complimentary. WOO HOO gotta love it!

Just as a side note...I ran out of upgrade certs for a flight to SEA just before Christmas. At the Premier checkin the desk agent upgraded me for free and said, "Merry Christmas."

Congrats. Last time I was even close to trying to check in within 30 minutes of a flight, I spent the next five hours driving from airport to airport trying to get a flight out with NO sympathy from ANYONE...my wife included:

I get to the airport today (SLC-ORD) and had a confirmed upgrade but the plane was delated due to ATC from ORD. So I ask the gate agent to see if I can get through DEN instead. She sets it up but the flights are pretty full and I didn't want to sit in the back and decide to stick with the original flight. Well she gives me the 1st class seat but never asks for the certs. And I had to remind her to staple my ticket to the boarding pass. I LOVE UNITED http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif |
