IME, as long as the return segment in question (or another outbound) falls within the 24 hour period, local time, beyond when access is requested, the BP prints. So, if I check in today at 1pm PDT, a return segment scheduled to depart prior to 4pm EDT tomorrow should print.

I'll be doing a MR on the QUP mistake fare next weekend and will test again...

Class of Service. The associated bonus is more appropriately called the "high-yield bonus" since it includes Y and B fares in addition to Business Class and First Class fares.

OLCI & Mr Chicken have ORD as destination, not transiting

This has happened to me a few times on itineraries that have me transiting back to SFO via ORD.

When I do OLCI for the outbound flight, I'm also allowed to check in for the return flight as far as ORD (even though it's more than 24hrs until the time of the return leg).
Once I do that, it no longer recognizes the rest of my return itinerary - I have to ask an agent to print out the remaining boarding passes.

Anyone else experience this?

Check-in for same-day return

Hi All,
I'm doing IAD-RDU-IAD next week on the same day. Only have :35 on the ground. I believe the return flight is the same plane. Can I check-in for all my flight online or do I need to go to the gate at RDU right after I landed? Thx.

I do this fairly regularly. As long as you wait until less than 24 hours before your last flight of the day is scheduled to depart it shouldn't be a problem.

THanks!

On the other hand I have never been able to check in for the return until the outbound is complete, including yesterday (on my final MR of the year). I know folks say they do it all the time but neither OLCI nor airside Mr. Chickens will allow me to do it.

That said, you can check in at the podium, i.e., get off the plane and get in line at the same gate (or any airside UA podium that's staffed but not busy).

That's strange. Are you sure you're looking at the right spot when you OLCI? You have to click a small link at the bottom of the outbound itin that says something like "check in for other flights."

About checking in at the podium at your destination, I would most certainly not recommend doing this. On a fast turnaround, you could miss the checkin cutoff and be booted from the flight entirely. Check in at the podium of your outbound flight, before you board. This should be no problem.

I'll give it another go next week.

It's definitely the "Check other flights" button - it does work correctly as long as you're within 24 hours of the return flight(s). I did it just this past weekend.

Did it on my last dozen or so flights with no problems. I mostly do day trips and print BPs for outbound and return before I leave home.

what both as219 and leech27 say as i've done it as well but i will add that if you can't olci for the return, do it either at a chicken or with an agent at your outbound airport. sometimes the chicken gets cranky and won't hatch your return bp but as long as you're w/in 24 hrs of the return, an agent can do it for you
