I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when I flew FRA-SFO and the priority bags came out first.

10 for 10 at LAX with priority tags coming out first on UA. I'm amazed.

They never seem to work at BWI. It takes long enough to get bags anyway ... and I eventually got the feeling that priority tags were like the "DOOR CLOSE" button on an elevator - it's a placebo.

IME when the plane comes from a place with competent service, like HKG or FRA, the priority bags come off first. From IAD or ORD it's random. I think what matters is how the plane is loaded. Once you're at your destination they just grab bags in the order they can get to them.

As I've posted in many other threads, priority tags are virtually worthless domestically; it's on international travel that there is benefit. That's why I'm surprised when people say that priority bags come out first domestically. If you ask any baggage handler or supervisor in the US, they pretty much all outright admit that they don't look at them domestically.

UA at Boston consistently does an excellent job with Star Priority Tags. Its the norm there.

I was DUMBFOUNDED to see my bag come off third for the BOS flights, right after two other priority-tagged bags.

THEY ACTUALLY PAID ATTENTION TO THE PRIORITY TAGS!!!

What's going on UA? Are you playing with my psyche? ;)

I got off UA1285 DEN-MSY earlier this evening and my two priority tagged bags were the LAST BAGS on the belt.

I felt like chirping at the lady in the baggage office, but we ran 90 minutes late and I just wanted to get some dinner. It wouldn't have done any good anyway...

I'd say you were in luck.. At one time, only one of my luggage arrived safely from SEA-SFO and it was in the middle of the belt.. The other one was pn another flight.. They both have priority tag with them. Go figure! :p

This was a first. Three priority bags came out so fast and none followed that UA staff in baggage claim took them to the baggage office thinking they were from a previous flight. Then they noticed what flight they were from and paged us to the office--before the rest of the bags started arriving.

I had some strong mojo last night; my bag from my MCO-LAX flight was the first to tumble off the conveyor belt. I felt like going out and buying a lottery ticket.

Definitely works

Going SFO-FRA with the Mrs. (a 2p), we checked our bags in at the same time. On the other side, my bag came out within the first 3 bags. Hers came out near the last 3 bags!!

On my previous flight from BRU to YUL via IAD and back I noticed that my bags were labeled with a priority tag. In IAD my suitcase was one of the first of the belt and also in YUL was this the case. Back to BRU however my suitcase was one of the last offloaded...

Didn't know why my suitcase received a priority label though, I had just plain regular economy tickets and didn't had any status with UA or *A back then.

LAX and SNA have been paying a lot of attention to the priority bags lately, 5 years ago this was not true, except on int'l flights. Always loved flying to Toronto where AC has a separate bag carousel for priority bags.

4/26 ORD-BUF I have 3 checked bags. First two bags on the belt are my bags with the priority tags on them. 2nd to last bag on the belt is my 3rd bag with the priority tag on it

Consistency? Nah!

Flew on UX from DEN to CMH with priority tag. My bag was the last one out. How do I know? Because the conveyor at CMH stopped the moment my bag was out. :td:
