P Class?

I'm noticing on the International flights that the "P" fares are popping up in addition to the "F" and "A" class - I'm just curious, I thought the "P" fares where just for transcon flights.

Just curious,

The P bucket was previously for p.s. first class, but last year UA changed it to be discounted first class. Now it sits between F and A in the fare hierarchy.

I did not think on Intl flights and 3 cabin domestic flights you could buy a discount F class fare.

Sure you can. I flew an A fare a few months ago.

This is interesting. There hasn't been international P fares before. Usually only two buckets, typically F and A. Can you send examples?

I wonder if it is for intl flights that are continuations of or continue as ps flights...

Are you sure the OP is refering to fares and not to availability?

Right. I thought that too, but the OP is pretty savvy. It's even odd that they have P availablity on intl flights.

Unlikely. P is no longer a ps-specific thing (and is no longer >F).

The fares (if existent) are news, but you and I discussed the P buckets a year ago:

I thought the P Buckets were an "enhancement" in the E- section ;)

Of course, they could come in handy if you've got a window seat in a full row.

Actually flew on a "P" fare last year 4/16 from ORD-ATL. The P fare was $1.17 a mile, were the "A" fare at a similar time was $.55/mile and the "F" fare was $1.5087 for most of 2006.

How do I book one? Whenever I have picked F on a 3 cabin it gave an F fare for $4000.

A fares all over the place!

If you go on the united.com in the advanced, book iad-fco leaving the 1st and returning the 27th, it goes F9 P9 A9 C9 D9 Z9, etc.....

Also, you have to call the 800# and actually ask for the "A" fare. Some markets have it some don't perhaps (?) but almost all my "F" class travel has been on "A" - and then when you get your itin, it states "DISCOUNTED FIRST CLASS" - cute, eh?
