Replacement UA Chase Visa Received
This information, which I hope is true, might assist others who have one or more UA Visa cards from Chase bank.
In mid-October I received a new UA Visa with mileage bonus, and then yesterday a replacement for it arrived in the mail. I had no idea why, since I had not lost the original card. Same account number, same credit limit, everything looks the same except the expiration was extended by one month. I called the number on the back of the card, and the CSR said that "everybody" has received replacements with new information in the magnetic strip. He said there is no change in the cardmember agreement, and went ahead and activated the new card. Have others here also received unsolicited replacement cards in the last few days? |
I also received replacement cards in the mail last week without requesting them.

End of year gift with matching credit limits, but this one doesn't require repayment? :D

samo samo, and I have been to lazy to call and acitvate it . The original has been working just fine.
|
No new card for me... yet.

I got a new one but didn't activate it. I'll let them call me if they think it's that important.

Be forewarned, beyond a certain date the old one will no longer work - there is unique information on the mag stripe which indentifies the two cards. |
My replacement is screwed up. It is bright yellow and says "Gold" on it. My previous card was a platinum. ...? But it's typical of Chase I suppose. I have been a Chase customer for over 20 years now and they occasionally do things like this.

Got one too. Was told that it was because of the First USA/Chase merger (buy out).... did not really listen.

I have not received replacements for either of my Chase UA cards.

We also received unsolicited new cards with no explanation and can only echo what's been said by previous posters.:td:

I got a replacement for my Platinum class a couple of weeks ago. Mine had a design change on it.
