Really agree, ice cream always seems to be frozen solid -- then thawed and often re-frozen. only experience is LHR--ORD/IAD but seems consistent. and always vanilla?

That's why I usually ask Bailey's help...it will expedite the melting process a bit. :p

ORD-CDG on 6/5 I am seated next to a GS in C. She asked the FA about getting TWO scoops of Vanilla instead of one of Vanilla and the other of Chocolate. I offer her mine so that she can get her two scoops as I am lactose intolerant. She told me that the flight took over 100,000 BIS for the year. For some people ice cream is everything....

Suggest you grab a small carton or two of ice cream from the freezer at Hong Kong RCC (just by the hot meals) and take it with you on your next trip to USA or "farther East", eg, SIN. By the time you are ready for desert, I suspect the consistency will be about "right". If too soft, just discard.

Ice cream is the only desert I truly love. I could eat it every day, so....

I beg of UA to make it standard fare on transpacs...please!

I'm not holding my breath though.

Are you sure? I will have to confirm with wife and grand-daughter but I am reasonably sure they were served a chocolate toping of some kind over the past few years in their 2 trips to SIN/year in C. Will confirm later after I check with them. For me, never a desert as I count calories so I have no personal experience. Also, by that time into the flights, I am only half awake so perhaps I was dreaming:)

Well, as usual, I think I am in error and you are correct!

My apology for the mistake, Sir. :( I am advised that the last time we (the family) were offered ice cream with topings, etc. in C was more than 3 years ago...my how time flies and/or my memory fades. It any rate, based on my 5 trips to SIN this year, including two with family, I recall have observed no ice cream, let alone topings in C transpac. And the family says it has been at least 3 years since they remember the "good ole days" of ice cream in C with topings. I guess I was indeed dreaming!

Yeah, they only serve ice cream to Europe in C nowadays, and not to Asia. They usually have the "delicious" cheesecake nowadays.

Hi lucky987coins:
We can confirm the Asia part of your statement as we just returned (june 2 outbound and June 12 return SIN via ORD. We usually travel UA metal E+ to Europe for New Year and sometime before Xmas for shopping (total of 2x/year and of course, if I remember, no ice cream "in the back of the bus" for the past few years.
If you like deserts, hope you have had better luck...perhaps in F?
Best regards
LWW
