Priority upgrade list?
Just spoke with a really nice CSR at the international rewards desk to check on the upgrade waitlist for my SFO-CDG flight next week. When she noticed my status she offered to put me on the "priority upgrade" list. Is there such a thing? I assumed my 1k status got me to the top of the waitlist (behind UGS of course). Does anyone know anything about this? I sure hope this isn't just some way of making me feel better.

J PS Our tickets are standard awards in economy If The Res agent asks the computer to put you on the the waitlist for a flight, it will be as a PB waitlist. They must specifiy their entry to enter a PA waitlist. So that agent noticed it and then changed it to the correct priority. |
If your tickets are standard award tickets -- eg milage award in Y, then they should not ordinarily be upgardeable at all -- not with miles or SWUs. Usually the computer simply won't accept you on the upgarde waitlist, but even if it clears when asked to support the upgrade at check in they will probably notice. Good luck -- maybe an oversold situation in Y will get you up to C, but sounds unlikely.

We are hoping that additional inventory will be released allowing us to use the same amount of mileage for a business award as we are currently using for our standard economy award. J |

I'm just curious whether they can tell you how many people will be in front of you on a waitlist?

J I believe, and people here can correct me if I'm wrong, that once at the airport it all becomes one big waitlist and you would be at the top of the list behind UGS. |
The three lies:
I love you The check is in the post Of couse, sir, you're on the priority waitlist. |
