Does use of a PMODollar Certificate affect base fare?

Did a search for answers to this question and couldn't find it.

I'm looking to use a $150 PMO dollar cert on a $178 UA fare to TPA next month. Does anyone know if the use of the cert will prevent the fare from being ATW eligible?

Nado.

Nado.

Is there anything on the cert that indicates whether it's a type A or type B voucher? A type A voucher is a discount, effectively lowering the fare you're paying, whereas a type B voucher is considered a form of payment.

Some more info on voucher types and usage here:

Thanks!

The language on the back suggests that its a type A certificate discounting the fare.

Looks like I'll be holding onto this certificate to pay for a future ticket that's more than $250. :-)

Thanks for your help!

Nado

P.S. Used the ATW abbreviation instead of RTW since it's what UA is using, i.e. www.united.com/viewatw
