Did UA forget to pay the wi-fi bill? Unable to connect to Tmobile at DEN & ORD RCC!
OK, once it's a fluke, twice it's a systemic issue. Unable to connect this morning at DEN RCC and now unable to connect at C17 RCC in ORD! Both times I can see the access point, but cannot connect. And this on two different computers!

It could be that the access point reached the maximum number of connections. Happens on occasion. Reboot and reconnect may possibly resolve the issue.

Good, I thought I was going crazy for a second. The same thing happened to me last Friday going BOS-IAD-MIA. I could see multiple T-Mobile access points and couldn't connect to a single one until my 100th try. Literally!

I've had it happen once in a while, but a quick reboot or a wait period (five-ten minutes) got it back up.. I would also agree that the hotspot had reached it's limit, if the club was crowded, which is possible.. Did you try contact T-Mobile?

tried a reboot. still failed. gave up and dug out the tether to my phone.

Did UA forget to pay the T-mobile bill? I'm in the DEN RCC East, on the tmobile wifi. They just don't have enough IP space allocated for the potential customer load. |
I've had problems often at LAX and occassionaly at the domestic RCC in SFO.
DEN/ORD/IAD and the non-hubs have never been a problem. |
Get a smart phone that can create a wireless hotspot
Get a smart phone that can create a wireless hotspot. And never again have to mess around with all the fiddle faddle (identifying the network, connecting to it, accepting terms and conditions, and the inevitable slowness if more than 3 people are using it) involved in connecting to public wifi networks.

At IAD a few weeks back, I could connect to t-mobile, but then whenever I tried to log in with my MP # on the RCC landing page, I got a generic error message asking me to call t-mobile.
As the guy at the desk was swamped (he'd waved us through w/o even checking our BPs, and I didn't have my card with me), I didn't go bug him about the wifi, and I wasn't about to try calling t-mobile and wading through their customer support. It wasn't the end of the world even though it was annoying. |
The only place I've really had connection problems is the D concourse RCC at IAD. Especially if I'm connected, then close my computer for whatever reason, then try to get back on.

The last time I went through that lounge, I had to wait more than twenty minutes before I could connect to the internet. - |
Had the same thing yesterday afternoon at ORD C17 as my boss kept getting kicked off which I suspected was due to the crowd. SFO in the AM yesterday was painfully slow (did a speedtest and got .88 Mbps) vs my Verizon 4G card of 15.28 Mbps . I have all but given up on using the RCC wifi anymore when there are more than about two people in the club....

It's gotten noticeably worse since they opened it up to everyone.
T-Mo probably never provisioned it for free-for-all access. It used to be pay for all, then free for RCC members only, then free for RCC + CO PC members only, and now it's free for everybody and their mother. That on top of the increased bandwidth that people probably use on average. It's not surprising T-Mo can't keep up with the substantially increased usage. |
