Yet another e-cert question
Moderator; plse move if appropriate
Suppose 2 pax want to book on one PNR for ugrade purposes (default to higher status), can this be done if one of them uses an e-cert? If so, does it matter which one applies an e-cert to the total fare. |

Sorry to hijack this thread...but is it possible to split a value of an e-cert?
I was given a $600 domestic e-cert, but most of the cheap flights that I fly in the U.S are under $400. Has anyone been succesful in requesting for 2 $300 in lieu of one $600? |
Web Support or online chat agents are able to create a single PNR/reservation for two passengers with one or more passenger utilizing an e-cert. I have done this for two passengers each using an e-cert and a reservation for two pax with one using an e-cert and one regular fare/no e-cert.

They aren't supposed too, any residual value is not returned to the passenger. If you have to burn it, book in a higher fare class or add some segments for miles.

Thank you for your suggestion. It worked!!
I emailed Customer Relations and within the hour, got a reply. They were able to swap out my $600 to two $300, as another "goodwill gesture". |
