I highly doubt this. I thought official policy was not to do anything unless it was a match to AA ;)

Wasn't aware that UA flew SEA-YVR mainline.

In addition, the map doesn't show the full name of Korea.
It's like Seoul, Korea, Republic of [ICN]
Republic of what?????

Must be a last name, first kind of thing...

Murrow, Edward R... Trump, Donald J... America, United States... ;)

I'm sure there'll be kinks a plenty to smooth out.

UA-NYC Feb 20, 2010 2:06 pm

Wow, from JFK on UA metal you can go to ORD, DEN, and YVR!

(i.e. still some bugs to work out)

If they really want to put this name on it....
Maybe they should change the flag on .bomb-Taiwan too.....

Hope they can correct it soon.

That's nothing wrong. They are wrong if written PRC, but they just wrote province of China, which is absolutely correct. What is Taiwan's official airline called? CHINA Airlines. What is currently on Taiwanese's passport? Republic of CHINA. So, nothing wrong to me.

For me the big question is: How does it compare to Airline Route Mapper?

http://arm.64hosts.com/

Haven't had a chance to look at that many routes yet but the UA interactive map runs a little slow on my tiring laptop. It will have to be pretty good to knock Airline Route Mapper off my machine.

I think the good thing about UA is you can input cities and it will draw you some paths.... but Airline Route Mapper is awesome to look at an entire route map for all those airlines!

SFOPeter Feb 20, 2010 3:20 pm

Wow this is really nice, better than BA's since it lets you scroll around the map. Didn't know UA flew SFO-CUN.

UA_Flyer Feb 20, 2010 3:48 pm

IAD-NRT: while the map shows options going through ORD, SFO, SEA, and partners through NYC, SFO, ORD, etc. LAX-NRT is currently not shown.

IAD-PEK: NRT-PEK is not shown, but it is an option as SFO-NRT-PEK

Mainland-HNL-NRT: not shown as a route option.:p

Even with your explanation, it doesn't make any sense to put Province of China, because as you say, it's Republic of China. The way it stands now just further confuses everyone.

Yes, The passport is now Republic of China so they should change to province of Republic of China. ;)
Maybe will be a province of China in the future when we reunion but not now.

Is it just my computer or am I missing some step. I can't get the 'interactive' part of the map to work. Clicking on any city does nothing. I am on a Mac. Tried both Safari and Firefox.
