Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 6.12))

On the "cleared" list for my ORD-DEN flight there is a DIC/K

On the standby list there is also a PRI/M and a very appropriate TEE/D :D

I'd be teed too if I was that low on the stanby list (which is currently 123 people long...

work2fly Dec 23, 2009 3:26 pm

My son's name is Thomas.

I ain't saying anymore...

Sorry for OT, but g_leyser, which flight are you on tonight? Any VDB opportunities today? I'll be on the last IAD-DEN flight tomorrow. It seems to be oversold but would like some data points for comparison :)

As far as funny abbreviation, I saw COC/K in ORD last week :D

cepheid Dec 23, 2009 4:08 pm

On my flight last Sunday I saw two KATs and one DOG waiting for upgrades. ;)

Travelwithpet Dec 23, 2009 4:46 pm

I remember thinking "mayyybe they should do ABCD/E instead, seeing as four letters is just too enticing" when the screens first went up. But that's me, and my mind has been in the gutter all along.

Ahaaaa. You mean, the dean? ;) I'm not quite an alumni yet.

thekaica Dec 24, 2009 11:30 am

I see mine all the time on the board: WAN/K

6am at ORD Dec 24, 2009 12:35 pm

I started calling a friend SPA/M after their upgrade didn't clear, they didn't like the moniker.

LongingForORD Dec 24, 2009 12:54 pm

I'm MAL/E, although I am not! :D

Speaking for myself (and not the other volunteer moderators), I'm OK with the thread as long as the posts don't violate the FT Rules and Guidelines. The rule against posting "Obscene or Offensive Language" is one that comes to mind, and I'd ask posters not explicitly post abbreviations that would be in violation of this.

Thanks for everyone's understanding,

Right you are! My brother is SCU/M!

Is he perchance related to the Twaddells, with whom I attended school?

FortFun Dec 28, 2009 4:36 pm

Saw this at DEN sometime last year. Seems like this person is in the right position on the list. :D

MatthewLAX Dec 28, 2009 4:56 pm

Saw LAM/E at SFO on Christmas Eve. No picture.

raffy Dec 31, 2009 7:17 pm

On the standby list:

CRA/P

SFO - DEN on 12/26/2009

RomeoDelta Dec 31, 2009 7:35 pm

In DEN today, saw HAW/K and FAR/T on a board in the B-80s. The little boy in me giggled on the inside. On my board across the way, Mrs. RD showed up as REE/K. Heh hehs proceeded from my face, but she was unimpressed. Our upgrade cleared. ^

anc-ord772 Jan 1, 2010 1:43 am

I saw SOU/P somewhere this week.

Noelene Jan 1, 2010 2:15 am

In October on the u/g list ORD-HKG , the person at #3 was

NEV/A

I hope their upgrades clear more frequently than their abbrev suggests :(

They missed that one. I was #2 and my abbrev is EVA/N, I heard the GA tell some one there were only 2 seats available, and at first glance I thought I was #3

jra3 Jan 1, 2010 8:44 am

Saw two COW/S on a recent ORD-LGA, and a MOO/O recently but on a different flight!

cepheid Jan 2, 2010 1:18 am

RUM/P and SCA/R both on the standby list for IAD-FCO on the 29th.

419er Jan 13, 2010 5:42 am

Sitting at the gate in IAD

Waiting for UA 403 this morning. On the upgrade/standby list were: DUP/E and BEN/D.

That sounds like one of those really annoying 'wacky' FM morning drive-time shows.

Xelint Jan 13, 2010 6:08 am

The other day I saw

BEN/T
FOR/D
