You said it at the beginning, it was an honest mistake. Let it go http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif You more than compensated the customer. Wish all CSRs were half as kind and nice as you appear to be from your posts. You really seem like somebody who is not just nice to customers, but nice all the way around. This wasn't a biggie. Customer probably forgot about it when they got home (unless, of course, they were an FTer! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif). |
B747-437B-
I've been reading a lot of posts from you recently, but haven't notice you post anything about actually flying UA. Are you a regular UA flyer? It seems like you have a really negative view of everything they do there. Why is that? |
Originally posted by frick: You're not a "lousey" csr, get that out of your head!!!This will most likely hapen to you again sometime. Next time (with such little time left), I wouldn't even consider trying to upgrade on a thru trip. The psgr. will get over it- did you by any chance remember the name? You can pull it up, and possibly send her a note, she will most likely appreciate the fact that it was a honest mistake...and your 1st of the year, right? Sorry about the spelling...I've been out with the girls! |

You can do the old book F. *TE T:Reval, then after the flight call Mileage plus have them deduct additional 15k miles just dont forget to waitlist return if any. Thats only in a pinch. See we (Frick and myself) have all been there. Hang in girlfriend. |

You acted irresponsibly in risking a delay for the entire aircraft by attempting to complete a complex transaction in a short time frame. |
"create irates"--I love it. I'll try that at the next ticketing in ORD or IAD. No one believes anyone can make an honest mistake-- untill they make one themselves. Those of us who use IND know your competence and persona.
Even supervisors can be wrong (who watches the watchers?) Hope to see you in a few weeks. ------------------ JerseyJoe |
I cannot say there is anything to stress about in this whole scenario. An honest mistake occurred, and the customer was compensated. I am hard-pressed to see why the customer would be furious.

I am livid about this thread!!!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/mad.gif
Jana - your can do attitude is something that is SOOOO missing at your employer - you CARE which is more than I can say for most UA staff. You tried to help someone and it went wrong. You should be proud of your intentions and in the end the PAX was no worse off than before you tried to help. You deserve a star http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif B747-437B - I have no idea where you get your notions, but I guarantee you that if you want to play completing CV's my experience in airline finance will greatly exceed yours. Your posts to Jana were insulting and rude. I can only assume that the attitudes you demonstrate here and elsewhere on the board are because you are short UA stock and want an 11 filing! Crawl back underground and leave to good people like Jana alone! [This message has been edited by B Watson (edited 09-07-2002).] |
NO - I am NOT trying to increase my post count!!! I was editing and kept saving it as a new post. OOPS - I guess I really was livid http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Originally posted by B747-437B: No, I do not fly UAL. I'm a PremEx through partner transactions, but I have flown only one UAL segment (HKG-DEL) in the last 4 years, and that too after an involuntary reroute. I have however worked with multiple entities who have a relationship with UAL, which allowed me to gain a decent knowledge of their operations as well as their strategic positioning. Through those interactions, I have been able to identify a number of areas where UAL is unable to implement policies that are consistent with their goal of maintaining a viable commercial entity. I don't think there is any doubt that UAL is doing things back-assward in many areas as can be seen from their pathetic financial performance. I simply seek to identify those areas. I have never been a soldier, but I would now like to tell you what's wrong with the military (spewing of opinions begins). When I was young, I thought I knew more than everyone, and could save a lot of people a lot of time by just telling them what to do. Fortunately, experience cured me of this, and my head will now fit through 6 out of 10 doors. Your mileage, of course, may vary. [This message has been edited by Brian (edited 09-07-2002).] |
