Oh man.. I received a United mailer last month and threw it out without looking.
That was before I learned that you will need a United credit card with annual fee to get the higher points multiplier starting April.

I went to http://unitedexplorercard.com/fly3 to see if the offer was also online in my acct but I just got the regular 80,000 pts SuB.

So I guess that mailer I threw away didn't include Silver status?

Note:
I have no status on any airline but I do have a Chase Sapphire preferred and fly United at least twice a year

I believe my wife is eligible for this offer. She has three segments so far in 2026, a UA award ticket and two paid UA tickets. We have a flight next week on UA, booked through AC so it's X fare on partner stock. Any chance that flight might count for this?

All the T&Cs says is

2) fly at least four paid or award segments operated by United® or United Express® during the 2026 calendar year; flight segments flown at any time in 2026, including prior to card opening, qualify.
In other cases, the ticket stock has not matter, so without someone with actual experience for this promo, it is probably worth trying.

Obviously not the same at all, but the Amex Centurion card does (DL Plat).

The thing that is annoying is you need 5k MQD on DL to unlock the choice awards with the centurion

You have to be crediting to MileagePlus to get PQF that is the only caveat.

I booked the awards with MP numbers attached to both travelers. You don't get PQF for partner X awards but this flight may or may not count since the T&Cs don't say PQF as noted above.

yea sorry i reread that after i posted i. I would think normal PQF rules will apply as it seemingly still has to count as a PQF on uniteds side.

I just got this offer as well. I used to be a gold then a silver status holder till last year i believe. I guess they are trying to get old status holders back.

I just booked my first business class with United yesterday.
After this flight I will be silver because I've spent more than $6k on United flights this year. (This is my 4th flight this year)

2 days ago, there was no SuB offer for Silver.
Today, I see one.
Of course the SuB for Silver is now useless to me. (Sigh)

So Quest card for $350/yr seems better?
With it's $200 United travel credit (every year?), it cost the same as United explorer card.
And has 100k SuB vs 80k for Explorer.
Get the Quest card instead?

Are you getting a UA card just for the SUB? If that is the case then by all means get the Quest if the annual cost balances out for you.

I am currently UA Silver, wife got this offer. Pondering it a little (not hard). She is a genl member. Would not be hard to hit the spend for the bonus miles which may be nice to have in our family's mileage pool.
Is there any decent perk for my wife signing up for this card and gaining Silver, along with me. We have two teen kids that travel with us. Almost certainly she'd only have the status for a year as the heavy biz cc spending PQP goes to my account.

Chase is running a targeted Premier Silver Status sign-up offer for the Explorer card again.

Seems like a pretty good deal if you don't already have status. Signed up Mrs. Dav3d for it.

Unfortunately, I couldn't get the status offer to appear from a chase referral link. The applicant needs to be signed into their united mileage plus account to enable it.

Earning Premier Silver status
To earn Premier Silver status, you must 1) make Purchases totaling $3,000 or more during the first 3 months from account opening, and 2) fly at least four paid or award segments operated by United® or United Express® during the 2026 calendar year; flight segments flown at any time in 2026, including prior to card opening, qualify. "Purchases" do not include balance transfers, cash advances, travelers checks, foreign currency, money orders, wire transfers or similar cash-like transactions, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, race track wagers or similar betting transactions, any checks that access your account, interest, unauthorized or fraudulent charges, and fees of any kind, including an annual fee, if applicable. After qualifying, please allow 6-8 weeks for the Premier Silver status to be activated in your MileagePlus account. Your Premier Silver status will be effective through January 31, 2028, unless you earn a higher Premier level with other qualifying activity. If you achieve Premier Silver status from other qualifying activity before you complete the qualifying Purchases requirement for this offer, you will not earn a higher Premier status level from this offer. The maximum Premier status level earned from this offer is Premier Silver. For details on Premier status benefits, visit united.com/premier . Chase is not responsible for the provision of, or failure to provide, the United Premier Silver status associated with this offer. This is an invitation-only offer, and the invited MileagePlus member must apply directly from the marketing website associated with this offer on or before April 1, 2026. Account must be open and not in default at the time of fulfillment.
