United.com 30-second delay on searches: "Processing your request..."
Hi all,
I just noticed today that united.com is now giving us a 30-second delay when searching. I'm on United.com almost every day and only noticed it today... I've only been doing award searches so not sure if it comes up on paid itineraries. Makes searching EVEN SLOWER. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3e307ed2b7.jpg What gives? Is it just me? |

Its been doing this for maybe a month or two. Super super annoying when that happens.

I was getting this last night when searching for award flights. I'm not seeing it now.
Maybe part of the "pooled miles" enhancement (*cough cough*) that was rolled out yesterday with much fanfare (and then quietly rolled back away today)? If they need to sniff your miles every time you do a search to see if they are pooled or unpooled, I would imagine it could easily add some time to searches. |

I was doing both paid and award searches earlier today and it didn't come up. Are you on a weird VPN or connection possibly? Looks like it is a defense against some type of use perceived as sketchy or something.
I thought it might have been a defense against screen scraping apps. But that’s just a theory. |
FWIW I got the same message exactly while shopping for Hilton hotels while at work. I think it's somehow tied to hosting providers/internet providers and protection from attacks. Not United.com generated.

Pretty sure I recall seeing this on AA website, but haven’t noticed it yet on UA website.

So I'm positive that UA tests random features on all of us. This thread helps prove it. I've never seen what the poster above is stating but I wouldn't be surprised to see it soon.
Right now I'm stuck with the login tab (on the right side) remembering me and not remember me. It's across two different machines but both on the same Chrome profile. One PC has the 'old' login with the blue page and my password is pre-populated. The new one has a white background and all it remembers is my MP# but I still have to click in the password box to have Chrome autofill it. Then I can login. I much prefer the blue screen. As always...one can clear all cookies/cache related to United.com and see what version they get next time. -RM |
