Updated Gate Information Displays?

Didn’t see it mentioned, but noticed different format for the display monitors at the gates at SFO earlier.

Are these getting updated everywhere?

Seems to be rolling out...assuming you're meaning the landscape style displays around the gate agent and not the "totems" closer to the hall showing up in some airports (like ORD). CLE has the updates and I'm so far a little "eh" -- my first impression is that they're fairly gaudy and look a little juvenile but I haven't spent enough time staring at them yet to determine if that feeling is actually warranted.

Saw these at BOS the other day, they might be my favorite gate information display out of the big 3. they even adapted a "Boarding in __ Minutes" countdown that AA has on their gate displays.

Yes rolling out across the network. Various customizations based on aircraft too. A plane with Space Bins for example will have information on how to stow your bag vertically just as there's been a video pushed via text when boarding starts to customers with registered text alerts.

A thinner font would have been nice.

This font is the new brand standard. You should notice it on your digital MileagePlus card and luggage tags. Also the new displays meet the latest accessibility standards for visual impairment.

That being said, a thinner font would have also met the accessibility standards.

Interestingly these are not the flavor I've seen in CLE (and I feel like they've been around the system for several months... but time is a bit of an illusion for me) -- I do generally like these (especially the dual display configuration that the DEN A gates, among others, use)

I’m not a fan. I prefer a serif font (easier to read) over a san serif font anyway.

Yep, those ones. Overall, I like the change, although it will take some getting used to. I like that the flight number is more prominently displayed, and overall it seems easier to read from a distance.

I often like to see the various destinations as I’m walking to my gate and depending on the gate layout some of the monitors are positioned far from the main hallway making them difficult to read.

Saw this at EWR a couple days ago. Looks fine to me. I was more blown away that I could board an international flight by having my face scanned by a phone - no swiping of boarding pass or showing of passport needed!

Outstanding!

And what would a thread be without FlyerTalker second-guessing?
