Just my two cents, but I find this very hard to believe. I've flown to LHR so much on UA before and during the pandemic and have always found the LHR-based crews to be the best in the system. Most are proactive, attentive, and generally outshine US-based crew members.
That's not to say I have not had excellent crews from SFO as well (I certainly have), but it just seems strange to me and leads me to doubt what the FA said was actually true. I appreciate that LHR-based crews have always, IME, taken the time to describe the menu options, never just "beef, fish, or pasta?" like the EWR or IAH ex-Con folks. |

777-300ER Seat 9L 1/8/22 Meals: Dinner, Snack, Breakfast Dinner was choice of chicken, salmon, and vegetarian, just like sfo-del. Had the chicken and I wanted to give it another try thinking that There’s no way it was as this bad. And sure enough, this might have been one of the worst meals ever on United yet again. The chicken was dry, overcooked, tasteless, even with the tomato, and look how small it is! The vegetables were swimming in their own boiling water and were tasteless. I had to empty the salt and pepper shakers. The bread was wet and soggy I don’t know why they heat it in the bags just take it out. Whatever germs you think you’ll spread will get killed in the oven. And the cookie…… https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f23c24848.jpeg Take note of one thing interesting though. Nuts were served in proper ramekins. so I decided if United won’t do it, I’ll do it myself. Below we have a pre COVID post departure nuts and champagne. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0b916bb29.jpeg mid flight snack they had a Turkey sandwich, apple and Gouda sandwich, Vegetarian sandwich and a grilled cheese. below is the Turkey sandwich. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...11c35e19b.jpeg it was cheap and definitely not up to standard but I guess for a school lunch it was delightful. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...63e30dbb5.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e72e26f5c.jpeg Grilled cheese was grilled cheese https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...900255e2d.jpeg Breakfast was a choice of French toast or Oatmeal, 2 of the easiest and lowest effort items to make for breakfast. I chose French toast. It was fine but it was just bread, the sauce was sweet but wasn’t smooth, it was rather goopy and had the texture of….well never mind https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f37c649de.jpeg Ultimately another disappointing meal flight, this one was quite atrocious. Though I did have a nice long chat with United’s purser supervisor of Newark FAs who was working this flight and gave the whole summary of what the trajectory of United meals is looking like (discussed in the COVID era inflight service changes thread). Enjoy and cheers! TLDR: if you are flying to India, choose the salmon or vegetarian and eat in the Polaris Lounge. Breakfast will be a letdown either way. |

That is the smallest piece of chicken I've ever seen served as a "chicken breast" in any restaurant. More Kirby Kwality, I suppose. |
Does anyone know the champagne currently being served on EWR-Europe flights? I wish I had asked, because I actually quite liked whatever I drank on my EWR-EU Polaris flight last week.
On a side note, I basically got an eye roll for asking the FA what the sides were when all we were told was the usual "beef, salmon, ravioli" spiel. She begrudgingly went to the galley and checked but I clearly inconvenienced her by asking. Sad state of affairs indeed... |

I'm also unsure what to make of the resemblance between the grilled cheese and the french toast. 🧐 🤔 |

Has the fruit bowl been Kirbyed too? No more blueberries? At least it's not the Dole cup.

Maybe I'm not picky but the meals were more than acceptable on this flight. Chicken couscous for the first meal. The sauce was overly sweet though. My first time having the chocolate fudge ice cream which was quite chunky. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...4c3ca9517.jpeg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...980050609.jpeg |

ORD->LHR 767 London based cabin crew was friendly and engaging. PDB of Sparkling Wine or Water offered. Same single-tray meal service as always now. So, I saved my mixed nuts, asked for a glass of Champagne after the meal, and did my courses in reverse!

UA63 GRU - IAH on 10 Jan: salad without dressing, some form of beef, and grain. Breakfast was a choice between frittata and an omelet. Didn't snap any photos this time -- by far the worst meal service I've had on UA in a long time. I found at least the mid-2020/early-2021 service to at least be tasty, despite lacking presentation.
