2022 Let's Eat - Economy Class (Worldwide) & Premium Plus (Domestic)
The latest UA in-flight meal and beverage guidance is here:
https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...g-changes.html In General - Complimentary Meal Service is available in Economy (and Economy Plus) and Premium Plus (aka Premium Economy) for the following:
Buy on Board (snack menu here and bistro menu here) only is featured in Economy for the following based on flight length:
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/unit...-domestic.html With that, Let's Eat 2022! |
Just to confirm that I'm reading the United Bistro page accurately: the snacks/snackboxes are available to Mexico, but they do not have the "bistro on board items" on those flights, no matter the flight length, correct?

Bring your own food!!
Jan 2022
EWR - HNL 11 hours Flight attendants announced that a light meal would be served on this flight!! It was really light!! Hunger Game light!! The largest portion was the napkins!! Can anyone let me know why UA served a piece of lime wage with pineapple? And what was that butter there for? Please remember bringing your own food!! https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...ee6d0477a.jpeg United Premier Hunger Service!! |

Better than several years ago when UA was the ONLY major US airline to not serve food gratis in coach. Count your tiny blessings.

That's a clear catering error - definitely write in with the picture.
Economy is supposed to serve a cold entree along with the items on that tray. |
New BOS-LHR Flight - Meals are Not Offered for this Flight
Hi folks:
I'm loving that UA is starting the new non-stop flight from BOS to LHR in April. I'm looking at potentially booking these for a summer holiday.in July or August and was suprised to see that both the outbound and return flights are showing "Meals are Not Offered For This Flight" for economy tickets. Is this just a typo or system issue, or is UA really considering not offering a meal on a transatlantic flight in economy class? I've got a kid with Celiac disease so was looking at Gluten Free meal options when I noticed there was zero meal options for these flights. |
I can't answer for sure, but I believe its a typo.
However, IIRC UA's only special meal available right now is kosher. So no GF option can be pre ordered... So pack for the little one https://www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly...g/special.html |
Definitely a typo or other system error.

Special Meals - Questions, Experiences,... [Consolidated] Presently only Kosher meals and I would not trust any airline for a serious food issue |
Thanks team. UA's website says special meals like GF are returning in Q2. So should be fine for summer.
My concern is since the system says 'No Meal" there isn't even an option to order a special meal should I want one. |

I want to hope that AVMLs would be back in time for our April 1 flight to LHR - which is typically what my wife and kids have - though I suspect ‘Q2’ means sometime in the quarter, as late as end of June - but hopefully they will at least have a veggie option as one of the options - I think they typically do on TATLs - or at least used to. If they aren’t back as we plan to book a trip to S. India for June - this very well may push us to book on SQ (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing) or LH instead. |
