So the lounge is the part sticking out next to C18?

Inside the terminal there are construction boards surrounding the area, like in this post:

Good luck! You kind of have to get the stars aligned with the gate assignment. For Jan/Feb this year I was semi-regularly commuting through IAD but just couldn't wind up on the appropriate side of the airplane / taxing south of the terminal / assigned to something in the even-number C's.

Continues to be no change in the air at IAD. |
Buried in this article mainly about United Club reopenings was mention from Alexander Dorow (UA's Managing Director, Lounges, Premium Service and Hospitality) that the IAD Polaris Lounge is "substantially complete" and "not only aligned with the vision of Polaris, but also really localized for the Washington, DC market." While I still wouldn't expect the IAD PL (or any others) to be open until 2022, this is the first recent statement I can recall that speaks to the completion status of the IAD PL.

I cannot recall a single Polaris marketing promise that was fulfilled in any timely manner. So I will believe the IAD Polaris lounge will open when I see it open. And would not be surprised if it is not open in 2022, or even if it is repurposed and never opens. I know the construction is supposed to be "substantially complete", but I don't believe they did anything in the interior, just enclosed it as a shell. And wasn't it originally promised for 2018?

From the linked document in previous post:
"United has commenced planning and intends to undertake a design/build project to deliver the Polaris lounge by the end of 2019." Any takers on 2020? |
IAD Lounge complete
A friend who has seen it inside just informed me that the IAD Polaris lounge is 100% complete. Furnished and everything. Just waiting for it to open.
