Maybe something will show up overnight. Or not.

You will get it. I had a flight today (LAS to SFO) where the CPU didn't arrive until T-23 (flight ended up going out full with several left on the UG list - full F).

Edit: and I just realized your flight was a Sunday, too. Everyone going back to work to earn the money they lost :) |
Back to normal :) (with weather complication)
UA 660 ORD-EWR. F (12 seats) sold out, Economy (112 seats) sold out with 49 on upgrade waitlist (no NRSAs). Almost half in the back were hoping for something that wasn't going to happen... |

Eight for eight this year. With Sunday's PHL - ORD and ORD - FLL clearing at +96.
Nothing like being paid to be in FLL for five days and sitting I the pointy end. |
I have to post about my unicorn experience tonight.
I am a UA Silver thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy status, so hardly a big UA FF. Tonight I cleared a CPU on a K fare on IAH-EWR on a 738. It really goes to show where things are these days. In 2019 as a 1k you barely had a shot at a CPU on this route. Now you can clear as a silver. I'm shocked but also sadden that this is where UA is these days. |
Can't imagine there's many elites flying on a winter Saturday night in a pandemic, even a busy route like IAH-EWR.

In my experience, CPUs are still heavily route/day/time specific. Relatively speaking, most of my recent flown flights have been effectively full to actually full, and it is not unique even on leisure routes for passengers failing to clear CPU. Also, there is a higher tendency these days for some passengers to pay for F outright, especially those without elite status qualifying for CPU lottery. So, even 16-20 F seats may be down to only a few remaining when CPU sweep periods start for a particular flight. Fortunately, I have been batting 1.000 so far on CPU flights. And, on those CPU in-eligible routes, I have cleared by utilizing Plus Points. |

Award ticket for Monday and received notification of upgrade this morning.

Flight 1: WL No 5 on the u/g list as a GS; 4 non-GS ahead WL using PPs. F booked 15/16.
Flight 2: redeye cleared 120 hrs out |
Finally failed a CPU, now 11/12 for the year. Hub to hub, of course! Due to mass cancellations the night before, not even a chance of gate upgrade possibility.
My original flight was UA hub to non hub, and already cleared to F. I was able to move myself to a different destination due to mx on the initial segment. The alternate destination is the one I had intended anyway. Previously, I had plans to travel there by train. |
Not Honoring Windows
PLAT (0P for all you tulips lol) flying KOA-SFO-LAS. The KOA-SFO segment probably wasn’t going to clear (only two seats left) so I bought the UPG for $350 about a month ago. Well worth it to me even with the service reductions.
The SFO-LAS segment had four seats left at 72 hours out and I was #1 on the list. It’s now 10 hours to departure and now there’s only 2 seats left and I’m number #2. It’s an hour flight so it’s not the end of the world. Here’s my beef. Don’t advertise a 72 hour clearance window if I’m not going to get it. I get it if you’re trying to sell that seat. Especially now. Just be honest and tell us you’ll clear the upgrades <24 hours out. Just seems like they’re cheating me out of an advertised benefit. I see this may be a pattern. Again, not the end of the world but just seems like false advertising. |
