It's in the computer as a curfew... that doesn't really make any sense so I'm guessing a typo.

I don't see any operational issues with SFO or SIN at the moment, and usually it's coded as ATC if it's something like an airspace closure due to a special event.

FA just shared she thinks it is because of tailwinds as we land at the same time. Why United posted the strange government restriction notification is bizarre.

Well, they code all mechanical defects as "weather" to avoid compensation, so this would be in line with that process.

I have been on plenty of delayed UA flights, and I don't recall a single time that they were dishonest about the reason. And their "compensation" -- really, customer service gestures -- are so haphazard that I really doubt it would make any difference anyway.
At least 95% of the time, when somebody posts on FT about how UA was "lying" about their delay, it turned out that either (a) the customer was basing their "weather" information on looking out the window, or (b) there were multiple reasons for the delay and UA wound up acknowledging all of them.

I think SIN very strictly slots arrivals. I bumped into this on LAX-SIN; that flight was frequently delayed up to an hour for this reason.

I have seen this on several flights to SIN. On one flight, the captain said that SIN does not like flights to arrive early so we had to delay our departure since the flight plan was shorter than usual.
