United cancelled confirmed, Issued, and fully paid ticket

Ok here is the deal.

Bought A ticket from Europe to USA via OTA all on united metal also marketed by United and received my 016 e-ticket.
The price is normal, so not extremely low.

United cancelled my ticket and said they are entitled to do that within 24-hours without giving a reason. Although they said it was because they shouldnt have sold these combination of flights. ( strange because its just a regular flight with one stop in the USA with destination in the USA.

My question is, can they just do this after they took my money, and issued me my E-ticket?

contact the DOT. File a complaint. With a 016 ticket issued and touching the US this is US DOT territory. They will resolve this for you quickly. Better to name United than the OTA IMO, especially if you have communication from UA indicating they feel they can cancel issued tickets with no explanation ... I am sure the DOT wants to know about this.

What was the routing? Need more info to help explain this. Also, nothing wrong with naming the OTA.

Is this the BRU-IAD IAH-SCL? https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/30161670-post1064.html All on one ticket as an OJ? Maybe the problem lies there? As above, the routing would help.

Negative reviews about schipholtickets.nl abound. Lots of complaints of scams and so forth. UA was likely correct to cancel. EUR 310 for that itinerary is absurdly unbelievable in this day and age.

It is not. Right now Virgin has a promo flying you for 250 from BRU to Westcoast
AA is having promos flying you from several Euro cities to basically everywhere in the usa for 250 euro..
310 is for sure not an error fare or anything. They are also not debating that.

You're absolutely right! It's absurd to be paying that much when United will sell the same itinerary to you for only EUR 298!

That's a very normal published price from Europe - USA in coach. I pay that quite often on UA. Not sure why people think it's absurdly cheap?

LAS or LAX? Where are your stopovers?

I can't get UA to price LAX-DEN-LHR-BRU as a single trip with two stops.

FWIW, I do see BRU-LHR-LAX-LHR-BRU for <$400 USD, so I'm not surprised you could get a 310 euro fare.
