Why does everyone hate United. What's next?
 

The United brand has a wonderful heritage that should be cherished. That said, the United of today isn't a respected entity...

I have heard my fair share of 'pmCO treated the average traveler better than most' and 'pmUA treated its best customers better than most...' and other variations in between.

That said, in almost every conversational setting (be it at work or among friends) in which I bring up air travel, everyone is first to 'hate on' United.

Yes, operational reliability is #1. But I ask: is it time to move past the United brand? Not just brand'ing' - wise, but also in name.

I do not hate UA. They need new leadership.

If they don't fix all of the things that cause all the displeasure among their customers, a new name will simply change the airline people "hate on" around the water cooler, IMHO.

Given we regularly have this sort of threads, I see little reason to have yet another and therefore will close this thread pending review with the other UA Moderators.
