2023 United PQF/PQP/BIS Status Milestone Roll Call Thread
United is measuring us based on Premier qualifying flights (PQF) and Premier qualifying point (PQP), and this seems to impact how we all meausre milestones. I still cannot figure out what the milestone measurements should be. Is it the milestone to achieve United defined status or milestones for how much flying (as measured in the past). One can buy a really expensive full fare business class ticket and instantly achieve status without meeting the PQF threshold.
Does it matter that now United seems to renew or extend status for many 2022 elites who failed to meet the minimum threshold for each elite level? I have found 2022 to be the most challenging year for upgrade in my 30+ years of UA flying and being one of the original GS members when the GS program started.
Here is the 2024 qualification criteria:
Here we go… another year of reporting of your milestones! Happy flying!

I have started this thread each year for over a decade in this forum because I enjoy reading FTers frequent flying pattern and happy to see FTers earning status based on the volume of flyings they do. I skipped to be the OP of this thread last year and also not participating in the thread, because I could not reconcile what we really mean milestones in a frequent FLYERforum. The current elite status is now essentially awarded based on the amount of $ one pays to United. A person can buy and fly one full fare roundtrip International long haul Polaris class ticket during peak travel period to instantly become 1K without meeting the PQF threshold, and depending on the logarithm, two of these tickets may earn one GS status.
There is lack of consistent data to compare frequent flying activities and when you throw in credit card spent and different ways of calculating various *A partner PQP and also whether *A tickets are purchased through United (with 016 numbers), the milestone data is almost meaningless except for the person who posts the numbers.
Now I have come to term that this milestone thread is for each FTer to achieve ELITE status milestone not for us to compare data with the old way of measuring frequent flyer activities which was primarily based on actual flying distance. In addition, a number of FTers are still posting their BIS which I personally would like to observe.
It took me awhile to come to the term with the modern way of measuring loyalty and I am happy to continue supporting this thread.
I will continue to report base on my BIS activities (United and *A) as it is more meaningful milestone to me as a lifetime GS. Achieving elite status milestones is no longer in play for me each year.
