When Will United Update Its Website?

Does anyone know the plan for when UA will up date it's website and support systems, the old continental site is pretty ugly and is not very smart around dates and some of the protocols, I also struggle to understand why it takes so long to post mileage on UA flights

They've been saying "summer" so who knows.

BTW, I doubt the posting of miles has anything to do with the website. The website really just pulls together a bunch of data and displays it.

I'd assume the website would have a similar look/feel to the mobile apps. The look/feel for those have been harmonized, website should be next.

What specifically do you mean when you state that the site "is not very smart around dates and some protocols."

One thing about handling of dates that's always bothered me is how they aren't intelligent. When I start today to book a flight for November I first adjust the date for the outbound flight to November. When I then work on the return the dates again start in April, forcing me to either enter a date or click through to November (or beyond) again. The system should know that the return must be after the outbound. Just one small example.

Oh, they could fix the website so "remember me" works. How many months has this been broken now? At least 6, I think.

While not website related, this is related to their overall design.

While the old UA could update their mileage system in real time, all updates on the CO mileage system are done through batch jobs.

Even if you get CS bonus miles for an issue, it takes a day or so to post (unlike the old UA). So it's not so much about flights not being able to post quickly, it's about anything being able to post. They simply don't have that capability with their current design.

A couple years after openssl has been updated on every single website on the planet?

Be careful of what you wish for! I actually like the website, and I fear that change will come with loss of things that make the we page better than others.

On the dates just simple things like you entry the depart date yet the return does not update automatically until at least you current date of departure.I also find that the site seems to randomly remember things in the past like if I have made booking for more than my self the passenger counts reverts to the higher number in the booking.

Amen. I'm not looking forward to a new UA website. I understand how the current one works, it's quirks, it's shortcomings. Not looking forward to a change and new interface. And I can't stand the new mobile app, it looks nice, but I find the interface cumbersome and non-intuitive.

different issue and little incentive to improve. Seems to be nominally two days since the beginning of the year and while I would like better what is the customer need / UA incentive to be better?

Well...on the old UA site it seem to update quicker and sometimes my Star flights on other carriers get in before my UA sectors on the same ticket.
Maybe they could just ask the guy who programs the add collects to have a quick look, that stuff happens really quickly

the website has nothing to do with the reporting / posting of mileage. It just reports your account status. The posting of miles is an entire different system. And yes the PMUA mileage poting was typically faster (and the competition, like DL, is faster).
