Anyone else showing half of the flight availability results showing the distance blank?

Since it's often wrong anyway, it would be no great loss.

Since I rarely use anyone but UA for paid trips, and can easily adjust to 500 minimum distances, I don't share your disallusionment. I find it quite an accurate guide.

A friend of mine just asked me about a similar issue with a mixed carrier booking; nothing was showing for partners. Given how often the partner numbers were wrong I'd say this might be a good thing, though I'd prefer they actually got it right.

Have been seeing the same for the last hour or so. Inconsistent problem...sometimes shows half, sometimes shows all, and a few times it showed none.

The searches I was doing were entirely UA. SFO-SYD and SFO-BOS.

EG. Direct flights SFO-BOS showing no distance, either in the search or the booking screen.

Same for me.

I was scouting out VDB options BOS-SFO for this Saturday and noticed that all the connecting flights (i.e. BOS-ORD-SFO, BOS-EWR-SFO, BOS-IAH-SFO) were only listing mileage for the first segment but it was also listed as the total mileage under the second leg

Just another fine example of our wonderful friend SHARES and the PoS PSS doing what it does best

I won't miss these misleading numbers. As I noted in another thread recently here someone was confused by them, they fail to account for at least:
1) Booking class bonuses or reductions
2) Elite bonuses
3) 500 mile minimums
4) Partner booking class earning rules
5) Codeshare booking class mapping

Good for you. I for one much prefer the quick and easy to use guide when I'm booking a flight as to which routes offer the best mileage options. If those figures are missing on a long term basis, trying to put together trips to maximize miles becomes a lot more long winded.

Of course, I realise that I am totally opposite to the vast majority who post on this board, who take every opportunity to snipe at UA. I actually prefer travelling with them than any other carrier.

BTW. I wasn't asking for an opinion on whether these figures should be available or not. I was asking if anyone else was seeing that they were missing at this moment in time.

If that's all you wanted, you already got your answer and there's no need for any additional posts here. Time to hit the "notify moderators" icon and request that the thread be closed.

Missing distances on search engine
Distances from/to LGA did not show this am.

Perhaps UA is testing new codes without the necessity to show the distances.... You know what I mean?? ;-).

UA doing testing? That's a good April Fools joke.

Except that the data almost certainly isn't stored in SHARES. :-:

I am seeing a lot of missing mileage data as well.

Doesn't appear to be a pattern that I can discern....

Maybe they are selectively shrinking the globe again.
