UA switched to a tri-color bag handle wraps (in post 233) in Feb 2024.

The bag wrap can provide priority processing of your gate check bags on UX. It may help checked bags also but the primary benefits is first delivery of gate check bags. It is not 100% (this is UA ) but with time it has become very common benefit for many UX flights.

older wiki content
UA switched to Blue bag handle wraps (picture below) in late 2019/early 2020 from the previous Yellow/Gold
UA started distributing the blue version and due to COVID cutbacks stopped
In Feb 2022 some distribution has restarted, unclear who is receiving these initial wraps

If you did not receive a Yellow Baggage Wrap when you reached 1K or you need another one, email 1Kvoice and request another one. They should respond and tell you that they will ship you one out within 7-10 business days.
If they do not respond to your original email, send another email.
If they do respond but do not mail you a Yellow Baggage Wrap within 10 business days then re-request one with a copy of their original response.

The only known formal mention of Yellow Wraps (but only readable by GS)

This year UA appears to not be providing a physical card for the companion and there does not seem to be a way to request. Did the materials you received mention the companion using the virtual / app card?

The only thing mentioned regarding the MM component of the program in any manner is the phrase, "Plus, as a Million Miler, you'll never fall below Premier Gold - even if you travel less often in the future.".

Have not gotten my kit yet, but others have reported a printed statement reference to companions having access to a digital card.

Correct - same copy in my pack that was received. I confirmed this with MileagePlus ... “a decision was taken by leadership to no longer provide physical cards or membership kits to Million Miler Companions - we are happy to provide them with digital cards via the United App”.

At work, a colleague that worked very closely with UA’s current VP of MileagePlus in a prior role said that the dynamic pricing, PlusPoints rollout and overall “repositioning” of benefits big and small across tiers is what he was hired to do. Basically, like the shift in the Marriott program, the program has been #Bondared

Good to hear that the yellow handle wrap will work for another year.

You are correct, gone digital. Not visited that thread yet but why not go fully digital as opposed to half digital is something that springs to my mind. Anyhoo, it is what it is.

For United Express frequent flyers, a new 2020 UA 1K light-blue handle-wrap is for sale on eBay at only $159.99.

With free shipping. (!)

No wonder it is such an attractive object for larceny.

Under normal circumstances, I’d mention that just because they’re listing it for that price doesn’t mean they sell for that much... but then I looked at ones that have sold, some for more than $160, but most for less. Either way, it seems like someone could quickly unload one for right around $100.

One can score two round-trips in BE IAH-LAS at $79 each in May and still have a buck leftover. Maybe I’ll try to find mine...

Going to be some very disappointed folks when they realize the "value" of what the bought.

As P.T. Barnum said, “There's a sucker born every minute.”

I understand why UA changed the color, but the blue handle is very difficult to see on my navy Away and Rimowa bags. They should have gone with a higher visibility color.

I was thinking this when taking my first UA flight this year, the yellow was much more distinctive.
