How to retrieve historical tail numbers for my flights?
I tried asking this question in the Travel Tools channel, but haven't gotten a response there after almost a week. Hoping that someone here can help me out.
I've been tracking my flights since 2016, but just in 2017 I started tracking tail numbers. I've recently mined my entire flight history that I could find on United's website, which goes back to Q4 2012. Since I don't delete emails, I was able to fill in the PNRs and my seat numbers for most (but not all) of my flights, even back to 2012. What I'm missing, however, is tail numbers. Wondering if anyone knows of a way to get tail numbers for my flights from 2012-2016?

Flightaware and Flightstats should have this information, although you have to pay to go back more than a week or 30 days (IIRC).

How do I find out the tail number of UA230 today, which shows on UA status page as plane #3013 (which seems not to be a tail number)?

You can use United Fleet Tracking -- to cross-reference of UA's equipment / aircraft number and tail numbers
