Splitting PNR... Is it possible???
Hello FTers,
Quick question. If I have a simple domestic roundtrip plane ticket with one confirmation number on UA, is it possible to split the PNR into 2? So on my way there would be one, on my way back would be a separate. And if yes, is it possible to do that without actually calling in? Thanks! |
Don't believe so, sorry
|
Usually not.
Why do you want to split? If you have a specific reason, you might get an agent to do it for you... |
I imagine OP is thinking about avoiding a fare change or fee.
Not going to work. |
This is why I always check before making ticket purchase for RT. Often recently, the RT is equal to 2 OW fares. This gives greater flexibility for later changes.
But no, I do not believe you can split a RT into 2 OW after purchase. |
You can split the PNR after the outbound has been flown.

If there's only one person on the reservation? I don't think so. And regardless, you cannot circumvent fare rules or change fees by doing something like this.
Is that's what's being asked? Or is it the usual split a 2-pax PNR? |

Thank you!
Thanks guys! Yes, it is for one person only. I figured I can not but I was not sure. It is not for any of the reasons mentioned but for something totally different, but that's OK!
I appreciate all your responses. |
Splitting a record locator?
I am booked JFK-FRA-BLR with 3 passengers in J. Now I want to move one to F. UA is telling me they can't move one passenger from J to F without canceling out the entire itinerary. Is this correct?

Nope - split off one pax to a separate PNR, and then make the change
|
I believe there is (or was, at least) some issue with splitting PNRs when there are *A partner segments. Does that still apply?
