I believe so. I wanted to split a reservation recently (2 people) and was told it's not a problem as long as no partner segments involved.

Yeah -- for my part, I've got all segments on partners (LH, OS), so are they correct in saying they can't split off one pax?

I wanted to move my wife up to F. We are currently all in J on one PNR. Is there literally no way to put her in F by herself??

Splitting *A PNR on .bomb

Hello,

Traveling to Africa and I need to split a PNR. Outbound on LH, return is on SA. Need to split as I want to add a segment and only two seats are open, PNR is for three people.

Yes, on the phone they have said this could not be done consistently, but .bomb always permitted it. Now I try repeatedly to split and just get an Error response and to call in. Did .bomb change and if not any advice?

Thank you.

pduck, how would you split on .bomb?

Stop clicking the button and call in. And hope that you didn't lose what you originally had.

There's typically a button on the page when reviewing the reservation.

Splitting PNR... Is it possible???

They refused to split on the phone so I wasted 90 minutes of an agent's time to grab similar itinerary, cancel original, refund miles immediately, issue tickets, then go back and grab newly opened seats from my cancelled itinerary and re-issue again. Utterly moronic and decidedly Not Friendly!

Given the instances of splitting where people lost their reservations I can understand UA's reluctance to do it for you. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Lesson learned: Don't book multiple passengers on the same PNR. :-:

You are the guru not i, but then the issue we will face is not getting as many free bags to check on LH or SA, right? I thought they had to be on same PNR as *G member but drop some wisdom and correct my errant ways.

Is this still true? The agent I just spoke with was reluctant to split a PNR with AC flights, so we left it alone. But if it's not really a problem anymore, I'll call back and have someone else take care of it.
