There's probably a thread newer than this one, but I was never able to find it. I have no status with United and just called to cancel a waitlisted upgrade. CSR quickly canceled it no questions asked and confirmed I would receive a refund within 24 hours. Logged out and logged back in and the upgrade request had disappeared from the reservation. Now to check back in 24 hours and see if the miles redeposit.

Nobody here will be surprised to find out that the miles weren't refunded. DM'd United via Twitter this afternoon and they had them in my account within two hours. Still haven't seen a refund of the copay. I'll follow-up in a couple days if I haven't seen it.

copay can take 1-2 weeks. Miles are usually 1-2 days, occasional as in your case longer.
