I noticed last week on a 738 (my first ride in the back on one in quite some time) that with the E+ retrofit, the missing window is less an issue on that plane than it once was. They've aligned the rows now so that the missing window space is adjacent to the seat back, with a window still available to the passengers in that row. It used to be that the missing window was dead center in that row, so that no other window was even partly aligned where those passengers could see out it. The gap in the windows is still there, but it's in a much better position, so that no row in that area is completely windowless. It's just that row has only one window now, as opposed to the 1.5 windows it would normally have.
