Idea: variable RDM elite bonus?

I was wondering, since UA now gives 1 quarter mile bonus for silvers, 2 quarter bonuses for golds, 3 for platinums, 4 for 1K's...(quarter bonus == 25% RDM bonus)

what if UA continued it on indefinitely? If Tom flies 600K EQMs a year, should he get a 600% RDM Bonus? Would this make a good incentive to keep flying on UA, the more you fly the more bonuses you earn?

I'm sure ua1flyer would be happy - 1,000% bonus RDMs!

Well it would certainly incentivize additional mileage runnning. Just think what a low CPM could be achieved by a 400kEQM flyer!

Seriously, can't see united doing this. Too easy to game and too little ability to focus rewards on its most profitable flyers. There's a reason that status RDM bonuses went down and fare class RDM bonuses went up in the MP changes.

So he can fly a million miles a year, and earn ten million miles a year, and spend them on... uhhh... more flying!

Seriously, the economics of this get very bad for United very quickly. At 1000% RDM bonus you can pretty much buy one, get two free!
