Anyone with GEX discount code for next week?

Raffles Apr 2, 2008 2:53 am

Play the XXX game - go to gatwickexpress.com/XXXX where XXXX is the name of a random airline!

However, gatwickexpress.com/amex is probably the best one at 20% off.

However, even cheaper is getting a local Southern Railways train to Victoria, or a First Capital Connect train to London Bridge, Blackfriars or Kings Cross. It only adds about 10 mins to the journey, although the trains are scruffier.

Try amex2

Any updates on HEX codes?

Raffles Jul 24, 2008 2:03 am

/amex

There's a VS one out at the moment as well, but it appears that you need a PNR to be able to get the free upgrade.

Any current promo codes for either Heathrow Express or Heathrow Connect?

I tried several of the ones listed in this thread -- no luck with getting discounts. Most just gave me a "404 error" when appended to the URL -- /amex didn't (when appended to heathrowexpress.com) but didn't give a discount either.

Update: OK, I guess some of the airline discount codes still work on Heathrow Express. For example, www.heathrowexpress.com/united gives 7% off the Express Class adult fares.

However, 15.35 GBP one-way (including 7% United discount) on Heathrow Express is still more than DOUBLE the regular one-way fare of 7.40 GBP on Heathrow Connect, so I'll probably just book the latter.

No need to book in that case, Heathrow Connect is easy to buy on arrival.

I did "/ana" instead of "/united" and the fare slightly reduced further to 14.19GBP. Seems like an 11% discount.

I believe ANA is the cheapest at the moment at £14.19 one way or £27.52 return, representing a 14% discount.

You can get 5% discount and a free upgrade to First Class from Virgin for £15.68 one way or £30.40 return. Deal ends 31st May, but you can book now for dates after this.

Yes, I know it's easy to buy on arrival (I've used both Heathrow train services to/from Paddington before).

But I was hoping to print an e-ticket at home and have it already in hand! However, it doesn't look like that is possible on the Heathrow Connect website. :(

It wasn't even possible for H'Ex the last time I used it, which is a real pain since if you have (or have HAD in the last six months) other bookings for H'Ex, the machines won't help you unless you know the booking reference. And the agents deny all ability to help as well, or at least they did for me. Seriously dumb software engineering.

Yep, ANA is still the cheapest deal I'm finding. Virgin requires a PNR. Does NOT have to be a Virgin PNR (have used AA ones many times), nor a current PNR (have used recently expired ones), nor a ticketed PNR (use a reservation on hold). It just can't be a PNR that you've used before.

Does anyone know if having a Network Card will give you discount on HEX Carnets?
