New York to London...which Business Class?

I am flying from NYC to London in March and want everyone's take on which Business Class is best. I know BA, but I might not be able to due to the cost. Options in addition are:

AA on Boeing 777
Delta on Boeing 767-400
United on Boeing 757-200

Thoughts?

If you're not flying BA, then Virgin as a second choice?

I would take DL's lie flat seats over the angled seats on AA or a UA 752.

That said, it can be far more costly to fly DL over AA if looking to upgrade a coach ticket.

My comparison of AA and DL J - LINK - the pics/feedback are largely AA focused as it was my first J trip on AA.

For FT'ers thoughts on DL's 767-400/lie flats see the following: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...-aircraft.html - post #2 includes many threads on the 764.

Also, if you fly DL to London, this thread will likely be useful as well:

AA's new 777-300ER is about to enter service on the LHR-JFK route (amongst others) but only certain flights will have the new aircraft - eg AA100 from JFK. These will have all-aisle access in business and fully-flat seats

Right - but I'd be sure to book those flights...IIRC, weren't there some delays with the 773 rollout? I thought they delayed it a bit...

EDIT:

FT Thread on delay: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...-2013-a-3.html - it says sometime in February, but I'm not sure there's a firm date for JFK-LHR yet...

Turns out I was able to book EWR to LHR on BA (767) and then LHR to JFK on AA (777). Total $3500. What seat should I do on the BA 767? I'm in 2B now.

I would ask in the BA forum - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...tive-club-446/ Specifically, the Dashboard, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...ad-sticky.html, may be a great place to start!

I usually fly from Boston and love the BA day flight but sometimes take the AA day flight. Vastly superior to anyone's night flight (too short, never end up happy even though I'm flying CW). So, the AA day flight would, to me, be a no-brainer, even though Virgin is a much nicer service.

There are changes coming for BOS-LHR service this summer...

I tried Virgin once in business class round trip and never will fly them again for one simple reason -- they won't let me carry on my 22" rollaboard (which everyone else allows) and forced me to check it on the return. Furthermore, enforcement of the rule ranged from nonexistent (in JFK) to incredibly rude (at LHR).

I have written them several times (months apart) asking about changes in this policy and the answer is "no, and we look forward to welcoming you on board again." Not going to happen, but obviously they don't need my business!

rwoman, thanks for telling me. That's a little disturbing, although I usually fly BA

RichardinSF, when I last worried about this (when I was buying a rollaboard), the Heathrow sizer is a little smaller than other airport sizers. So, rollaboards that work elsewhere often are a little too big at LHR. That's why you get a yes at JFK and an adamant no at LHR. This isn't only a problem coming back from LHR but also when you connect in LHR. The Tumi 22021, a Hartmann and at least one other bag were the only roll-on suiters that fit when I was looking. Things may have changed since then. I've been happy with the Tumi. Many flights since then and it is still working well.

You guys should be aware that most European airlines figure carry-on sizes including the wheels, i.e. the wheels are included in your 56cm or whatever it is.
