Someone really needs to start a thread compiling the best places to find a loo in central London. IME, London shops are very loo-unfriendly and those that are freely open to the public - Burger King comes to mind - are often filthy. My preferred location is Waterstone's, always clean, no hassle.

Any you especially don't want to roll into some laybys / rural car parks, flick your interior light on to read a map, and wind your window halfway down so the windscreen doesn't fog up while you have the engine turned off... just saying!

Handy to know, if you're in the City of Westminster, London, you can use their 'SatLav' service:
Sat Lav: If nature calls just text "toilet" to 80097 and you will be texted back the details of your nearest loo within a matter of seconds. And, an interesting factoid from the folks at Westminster Council: Latest figures reveal that an amazing 15m people visit our council conveniences each year, equivalent to three times the population of Scotland.
