TWA the best on-time rate in September

I suppose it's easier to be on time when there are so few flights in the system!

Yeah.....they only make 825+ flights/day. Not to boast, but DL makes 2,670 flights/day solely on DL equipment, factor in code-shares etc its 5,244 flight/day and we managed 78.1% flights on-time.

Plus we carried 10,000,000+ passengers too.

Being so much bigger than TWA must make you feel good about yourself, huh?

Frankly, expected a lot more from you. From what I have read, you have always represented DL w/ a lot of class...

For what it's worth, one could also make the argument that a high number of flights allows an airline to "spread out" the number of delays more. With relatively fewer flights (and most concetrated at one hub) TW has less of a margin of error- a few days of bad weather at STL can pretty much kill the on-time numbers.

25% (669 of the 2,670 flights) are solely out of Atlanta (the largest single airline hub in the world) so thunderstorms can really mess up our operation too. DL is just managed so well, we are constantly one of the top 3 carriers in the three DOT categories every month(on-time, baggage, & complaints).

Look back on the DOT website and see where AA and UA (our real competitors have placed in the last few months. They are always below DL. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

2000 CYTD:
Fewest Complaints- DL #2, TW #7, AA #8, & UA #9
Arrivals OnTime- TW #2, DL #4, AA #6, & UA #10
Fewest mishandled bags- DL #2, AA #7, TW #8, and UA #9

Lost baggage complaints are fewer than any other carrier, other than Alaska (2000 CYTD has carried 11.2 million paxs, whereas DL has carried 101.3 million), and if you fly into E-Concourse, and connect onto a flight on T-Concourse (in ATL) that is 1 1/2 miles apart, we always seem to make it work with ease (or at least that is what the DOT is reporting).

I don't mean to be on a soap box, but DL is a d**n well-run airline. I'm the eighth person from my family to work here, and wouldn't be doing it if I knew there was a better one out there to work for. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

TWA- I hope they continue to fly On-Time. Unless they're bought out pretty soon, they won't be flying too much longer anyway. Isn't the stock down to like $2 a share?

Anyway...these are just my thoughts....one individual who is allowed to have an opinion just as anyone else.

Why are you on the TW forum anyways? Is it because the DL one is littered w/ so many angry DL flyers these days?
