Good to know. Thanks

Finally, a use for the Trusted Traveler card (seeing as TSA seems to reject it as an ID).

Too bad they won't give free cards to those of us that enrolled when there were no GE cards.

Considering the fact that 15 of the 19 9-11 hijackers were Saudi nationals, I would have thought Saudi Arabia would be the last country for the US to have a reciprocal Global Entry program.

I am sure the saudis are pushing for that privilege, however, it won't get a warm reception at both congress and senate ;)

Yes, I am in that situation. I might pay $15 for one should I go to NZ, but otherwise I'm fine showing my driver's license or passport at security.

Looks like SAT is now an enrollment center: http://www.aviationnews.net/?do=headline&news_ID=214120

The card is also useful if you want to make use of the NEXUS or SENTRI lanes coming back into the US.

I wonder if they will take a Nexus card + passport w/ the "CBP" stamp? I don't even see the option to order a GE card on my membership--to order a replacement card, sure, but that seems to be to order a replacement Nexus card.

Boy, more people must be getting GE as I actually had to wait for a Kiosk on Saturday coming back in from the UK.

By the time I was first in line to get a kiosk, there must have been 40 people in line. Didn't help that there were 2 kiosks down.

I wonder if the kiosks on the other side were open.

Was this at IAH?

IAH has one bank of kiosks, in a row, 15 total on the west end E terminal side. Per Houston Airport system press releases, IAH has the most kiosks in the US. When it first started they were on the far (east) end and then split. Now it is all in one big Global Entry corral. you can see pics on the IAH website at www.fly2houston.com

I have seen about 12 kiosks in use at once at IAH but never had to wait YMMV. IAD I had about a 60 second wait for me the other day and at EWR a nice CBP agent saw my sticker while I was waiting in a group at the regular line, told me to go to the kiosk and brought my entire group to the first manned station next to the kiosk...which was broken so I had to go through the main line, but the cutting with the group was very nice. Some other recent trips had more and more people heading for GE so the popularity seems to be growing. I wonder how much precheck has done to expand the program?

My wife (without GE, well, at the time without; as of tomorrow, she'll have it) made it through more quickly than I did in December at IAD. She used the regular line; I went through GE, and had to wait for a kiosk (the line was about 5 people long), then of course actually use the kiosk.

I think if there is no line at immigration, GE may be slower -- even the button pushes take time. Of course, you run the risk of a bigger holdup at customs, although not always.

Yes, sound like there is not longer two banks of GE but one big bank with a dedicated agent at the desk, (or 2, as was the case on Saturday). However still the longest line I have ever seen for GE.

They have put a "Say NO to all", button on the question page. That makes it faster.

I still have a problem with the picture taking. I am too tall, and it takes a nice picture of my boobs not my face. As much as the border control may enjoy that I don't think that is the intention. I am 6'0' and that is without any heels on. Wish you would have some way to direct it up, instead of squating down to get into the picture.
