US/Canadian-issued ABTC can only be used to access the APEC/Crew/Diplomat lane. It does not replace/waive any visa requirements. Chinese embassy webpages mentioning visa not being required is for ABTC with CHN endorsed on the back. No US/Canadian-issued ABTC will have that endorsement.
The button to renew your US/Canadian ABTC will appear in your profile 30 days before the card expiration date.

The card is worth it if it helps you avoid even one or two half hour plus immigration waits in NRT, BKK, SIN, or PEK/PVG. In China and Thailand at least it also entitles you to use the first/business class security screening. No harm in applying, I doubt they'll deny you if you have even somewhat regular biz travel to the region. Definitely worth the price for me living in Asia and traveling to virtually all the APEC countries in the region on a regular basis (pre Corona of course). I also have never been questioned when using it on a holiday trip although I usually check business on the immigration form anyway.

I'm a US citizen. My APEC card expires in August. For the life of me I can't figure out how to renew.
The website lets me request a new card---which puts me through a flow that does not actually work on Safari on a Mac.
Has anyone else had success renewing their APEC card recently?

I'd fly to Asia *constantly*, and I'd really like an APEC card. However, I'm not sure if my business would apply and I'd like some insight on whether there are downsides to giving this a shot.
I have an LLC for my website, which is centered on providing airport lounge reviews, with a focus on Asia (www.loungesharks.com). I *do* sometimes hop on a flight to get into a lounge, and I go out of my way to visit lounges at airports I wouldn't otherwise use.
Do I have a case here? Any reason not to apply?
Thanks,
Daniel

So I obtained my APEC travel card in mid-2019, and for obvious reasons have used it only a couple times. Wonder if this will make it less probable or me to renew later this year. Any recent experiences?

My last renewal came after a year with no travel to Asia. No questions were raised. I received the renewal card quickly.

Does anyone else have Nexus and a APEC card? I've been trying to get an interview for the past 15 months, and have had 6 different appointments canceled since for some reason the scheduling software only lets me schedule an APEC interview at a NEXUS location, and those are all not taking appointments. I am based in Phoenix, and would much rather schedule with a local office, but apparently am restricted to Nexus centers for some reason. Any tips? Short of that, I am worried I am going to eceed the 720 day interview requirement since there are now 0 appointment available due to Nexus enrollment centers with my most recent 3/22 interview having just been canceled again today. Thanks

Yeah, I already have my Nexus card, just trying to add APEC. I've emailed multiple times asking why I cant get a Phoenix interview, and I just get the boilerplate that I need to schedule online. I tried to do a interview on arrival like they do with global entry in San Francisco, and after doing the interview, they told me that since I have a Nexus card, they couldn't add the APEC to my account. After trying for 3 hours, I gave up. Its been a battle.
See attached the photo showing my Nexus, conditionally approved APEC, but then the only scheduling sites that show up at NEXUS centers.

mmm. I am not a Canadian (American, residing in Arizona), but as my parents are up in BC, I completed my Nexus interview at YVR (converted GE to Nexus since I was crossing the boarder frequently when seeing my parents). So, maybe this is due to my card being issued in Canada? That would be a bummer, I guess if that's the case, I should renew in 2023 in Blaine or some other US based center.
I do see a remote option becoming available, so if I can actually get an appointment, maybe that will solve the issue. Will just have to keep a close eye on it I guess.
