Breakfast Atlantikós
Breakfast was served in the morning at Atlantikós Restaurant. In keeping with Miami, they chose a Greek restaurant. Apart from that, however, it is a very bright and mainly white furnished room, the table tops are spectacular stone slabs with fossils. Really very nice, we liked the room. Then on the terrace you sit right next to the pool and in the sun, I thought it was better inside.

The selection was good, as was the quality. At the station, for example, there were egg dishes with really big pieces of shrimp, which is already above average. It is unusual that guests went to the buffet with their dog on a leash, this is otherwise less known. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...2c546d8698.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...abdba2fb96.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...9ec109fa39.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...a2592493fa.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...c3d078bdd2.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...0b919f7d67.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...05f288f970.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...abbe5333b6.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f8c2775c2c.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...4e5d810c5d.jpg I liked the breakfast, even though it cost $115.43 with tax and service for two. |
The St. R really charged for tea bags?! That's nuts!

Given the locale and recent trendy trends, I am shocked the hotel did not provide a buffet just for dogs! That's the latest thing in the US it seems at the hot restaurants... you have your $40 avocado toast and Fido has the dog-biscuit equivalent served on a special placemat and plate with sparkling water to simulate his very own champagne.

St. Regis
The St. Regis has 2 pools. The first is mainly populated by families and is located right next to the restaurant terrace.

I knew something like that (but not from my own experience) only from all inclusive hotels of the cheap kind. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...66a2024180.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...4206f7708a.jpg You can also rent private cabanas, no idea what they cost. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...5d4e999596.jpg On the second floor is the adult only pool. Very nice welcome. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...239ec0b212.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...931a9ed25b.jpg There is also a whirlpool, but surprisingly it was in quite bad condition. It looked like it had been in use for many decades. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...cecc07d936.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...3acbf8e313.jpg The pool was nice, but usually very crowded. What disturbed the peace was a lot of construction noise. Also, some guests thought they had to bring their dog, which then also barked most of the time for the entertainment of the other guests. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...be3fbddee7.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...82d8ffcb4f.jpg |
St. Regis Bal Harbour
Of course you can also order food at the pool. We chose guacamole with tortilla chips and a vegetarian burger.
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...735e119f2b.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...f1749bd955.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...923d6e5eb3.jpg Both were good. However, GF then found that in her food was not really appetizing. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...b3a5b7b80a.jpg I didn't think it was that bad now, but I complained "as ordered". The employee said it was a date, which I think is true. Nevertheless, the guacamole was not found in the end on our bill, which I found generous. |
I understand if I was at a family pool - kids and such making noise. But a barking dog when I am trying to relax - that would be a problem for me.

St. Regis Bal Harbour
After the pool we went to the beach. The special thing about the St. Regis is that the sunbeds are included in the price. So, you don't have to pay again. 2 sunbeds and an umbrella are one of the great services you get for the modest resort fee of only $45 per night. There are also rental bicycles for 2 hours! Just great, so they're practically giving it away.
But to the beach. This is quite OK, in the water you could already swim. The service was nice. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...d5e569470c.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...443ac91a9c.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...7c72799b93.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...322b4ec6bc.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...21b70ace4c.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...4051fa000a.jpg An expensive but good ice cream. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...8b98cacbb8.jpg |
St. Regis Bal Harbour
Of course, there is also a gym in the hotel. As you would expect, there is modern and high quality equipment.

I had no idea Miami prices are so crazy these days. And I thought Hawaii was bad!

Flying promotions
There was one interesting thing while we were sitting on the beach. Some may know it and take it for granted, but it was completely new to me. Again and again airplanes with advertising banners flew by, mostly for alcohol and parties.

What more do you need to confirm all the clichés? https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...fa0305f0dc.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.fly...e2aaf35c6f.jpg |
Ah, I was gonna say, no machine guns? But there it is, like clockwork.
