type of sausage, either one of you can name it, that comes from the area of Switzerland that they grew up in. (Weisslingen?)
St.Galler Bratwurst (should be roasted partially dark, served/eaten without any mustard)

she has seen me never once take a seat where I am unable to watch everyone else in the dining room, the door, and everyone sitting at our table.
My guest's usual preference is to see how the personnel draughts beer, etc.

some heavy cream
Creme double from Fribourg

dried veal
Bündner Fleisch (meat from the canton Grison - where mailman lives and skis)

Sprüngli 'hamburgers'
Luxemburgerli

Did someone mention Graubünden http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif?

Hotels are already booked for Christmas to New Year's. You have to know someone if you want to ski there.

Too bad that I missed you during your stay in Zürich.

Never mind, I've already made that mistake myself in the "who we all are" thread. Looking forward to that picture for my website as well...

BTW: Rudi would not be happy if the famous "Bratwurst" came from Weisslingen. It is, of course, from St. Gallen's butcher Schmid.

Now we report about the missing meal or Rudi runs off with Jerrie as noted above.
The dismal background. 1) Since I was, at least as I thought, only going to collect free dinner I did not want to break the bank buying the tix for this trip. 2) This flight and a subsequent one later to tpa would secure me plat with worldperks for '02. 3) I can not find a reasonable priced tix to return me to sfo direct on klm/nw on Monday so choose to leave late Sunday afternoon and overnight in ams. 4) Rudi sends an itinerary of our stay in zrh we can do all or some 5) Itinerary includes attendance at the Soccer match between the Grasshoppers and FC Zürich according to Rudi sort of like the Raiders vs the 49ers on Sunday with a dinner at the field club catered by the above mentioned 2star chef. 6) At this point I am willing to pay the change fee to klm/nw to leave on Monday but with the demise of swissair I have been beaten to the punch by the all the Gnomes whom have only been home for the weekend and now leave to their European ventures and find out that all seats are sold out http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
So we will report the dinner and the game as relayed to me by Jerrie.
First Jerrie reports the game as a 0:0 tie and it was not cold. Sounds like a premex report http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif But that's it. Nada más.
The dinner is reported as good. I guess she doesn’t want to upset me as to how good but I continue pressing and finally the truth comes out a menu and report.
FIFA-Salat
Nüsslisalat mit Ei, Speck und
Brotcroûtons an French-Dressing

Reported as a salad with a creamy dressing. Of course this is coming from someone who only eats salads when I am on the road as I do all the cooking at home.
***
Bündner Kalbskotelett ,,Jack“
mit Beuree noisette
Grüne Bohnen
Baked Potato mit Sauerrahm

Reported as veal chops with herbs, green beans and a baked potatoe with sour cream. As Jerrie is warming up she reports the veal chops as very good
***
Mousse au Chocolat
,,black & white“
mit Crème Gruyère

Okay we are talking F-S-F here and I want a details and the news is that unless this is the other mousse that Playboy™ was talking about then their ratings are incorrect as Jerrie rates it even better than the mousse at Kronenhalle!!!
As a consolation Jerrie purchases me a polo shirt with the Grasshopper logo on it.
Now earlier I has stated that I would report flights as one -second transitions ala the movie The Snatch but something that I consider special happened on the way home so I will report it. As those of you who are familiar with landings at sfo you know that it is rare to have one of the landings where you traverse across Point Reyes traveling southwest and then pass to the west of the Golden gate and cross San Francisco diagonally to the southeast. Head down the middle of the bay - make a 180 just pass the San Mateo bridge and head back to sfo. In all my landings at sfo this is only the fourth time that I have experienced this approach. What makes it special is that a large storm had blown through the area and the view was crystal clear - one could see forever.
This is one of the reasons besides sleeping that I always choose a window seat so that if a spectacular view is available I get to experience it. For me this was truly a wonderful way to end a wonderful weekend.

CodaAs I approach almost two years hear on FlyerTalk it has been my discovery that we are a very lucky lot that 1) FlyerTalk is here and 2) and that those who first frequented FT (back in the days of 5 posts and 25 visits total per day) were the group they were. Members like Rudi and for that matter all of the members whom I have met or communicated with that do not have a date after Registered: have laid down a foundation that has created one remarkable bulletin board for us to partake of.
I know that I stated that before that I believe in the statement of the character from the book Up in the Air -"the secret to satisfaction is not to have high expectations." My experience with Rudi and this trip though has been the proverbial "Icing on the Cake." It would for sure have met the expectation of even the most demanding of posters because I learned that while Rudi is a great host he is also one of the most marvelous of the pioneers who graces these boards. For sure a gentleman and I for one can see why so many claim internet family relationship with this kind soul.
Gracias amigo for you are for sure a http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/starsmilie.gif FlyerTalker and one that everyone should hope to emulate.

Nothing I could have for lunch today could possibly compare. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

And it is impossible to find true draught Pilsner Urquell on this side of the Atlantic. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
