I'll leave that just here while I've a break

16 Minutes of drone footage over the Outer Hebrides - stunning views (I envy their luck with the weather!).

Day #10 - Westcoast South Uist

A bit of rain while breakfast, wind is gone. If there's one thing on the Hebrides: fast changing weather.
After all this slacking it's about time to get moving! Plan is to walk from Lochboisdale to the western coastline and spend some time southbound and return.

Leaving the "city"

Everyone having rest. This thing didnt move in a while, so I had time to take a picture

Some 3km later I pass Dalabrog and can just think about how it was living here some 1000 years ago. Last remaining drizzle stopped now as well.

Rest in peace? Indeed.

This should be next to here https://goo.gl/maps/nqCYEWm9vVq

Destination to walk along is that peninsula on the right
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/venb9cid.jpg
Just look what a crowded place that is :-)

A bit further down there are some benches and I take a rest for lunch and some look around. Rest from a restful place, I say.

Tide is going low and birds are picking for lunch, too

Landside, the famous Machair growing potatoes for tonights chips :)

About to reach the natural causeway to Orosay ( https://goo.gl/maps/WTJ4TzKrdXA2 )

Way up onto Orosay, looking back

Up to Orosay, watching out south Eriskay and Barra

Another 360 video in about 35m above the ocean, still windy

Back to sea level, it's time to take another rest from all the crowds. Imaging this being Miami Beach or Mallorca.. if God want's to have a rest, it's likely here.

I've spent some 4h already, so let's not move further south but start returning.
Loch Dun na Cille

Another of the countless Lochs

Look, Ma - the city!
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/pb64z9pm.jpg

I spent some 6.5-7h on feet in a sunny bit still breezy weather. My feet hurt after some 20km of hike and it's just fine to return to a place as such:

Too bad I've to leave tomorrow.

Day #11
A last look from the room after wind settles - it hurts a bit that I've to leave.
http://s14.directupload.net/images/u...3/8ymqexb9.jpg

Leaving Lochboisdale with heading to Oban (5h away), ticket is 12.60 GBP.
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/zdr7aw6e.jpg

Low ceiling..
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/xj4ffngy.jpg

http://s14.directupload.net/images/u...3/teo7owgr.jpg

Oh, foggy weather, where've you been?
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/df4acapv.jpg

What's that? Damn too many buildings abeam!
http://s7.directupload.net/images/us...3/dyonq4ai.jpg

Arriving in Obam was a bit shocking.. after all those days where you meet more or less 10 humans within one day you'll be overwhelmed with a city of 8000 citizens and as much tourists.

I am taking a bus to Glasgow. The ride is challenging like it was to Lochmaddy. Rain, fog and bumps. Also the driver seems to think he's some racedriver or so. As such, only one picture from Loch Lomond that's worth being shown
http://s1.directupload.net/images/us...3/pr2qq5vv.jpg

Arriving in Glasgow at Buchanan Station, I've about 1km to walk to my last hotel. Given the looks I must be looking like an alien with my dual backpack setup :).

Finally reaching my place and having a look outside is SOOO different
http://s1.directupload.net/images/us...3/hzoqgavm.jpg
Tried to go to a pub for dinner, but all the places are so crowded so I bug in.

Day #13
Shuttling to the airport, boarding a booked out plane. Too many people and I am somewhat depressed about it.
Layover in LHR to a leg that's at most half booked - thank you, Lufthansa. Enjoying a peaceful lift along the coast back to HAM.

Looking back

I might return to Outer Hebrides the other day, but likely I'd do it a bit earlier in the year (July/August instead August/September) to get a bit better weather.
Stay away if you plan to swim in ocean, looking for crowds or sunshine non-stop for two weeks.
Come here if you dont mind a drizzle or storms for a day while looking for otherwise peaceful and silent days with not many people to share.
Also be prepared to have some cultural shock on return ;).

If life allows, I'd like to spend my pension term up there.
