MH 88 KUL-NRT Business Class
This is a comprehensive report of Malaysia Airlines Business Class service on flight MH 88 between KUL and NRT.
|
This is our last day of vacation and we have to start our journey back home.
We had a great time at the Shangri-La ! Pictures of the room and of the twin towers ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psc7d53555.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psb5cc59eb.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psf78bde65.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps694e268c.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps139d3e58.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pse5c35417.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps7c550aca.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps2afa778b.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps2846fb6b.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psba590ffb.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps20eb2e9b.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psc8945553.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps5e40eab5.jpg We checked out of our Executive Suite at the Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur and spent the last couple of hours at the Horizon Lounge. Here is the view we had of the twin towers from our table at the Lounge. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pseeea3545.jpg We had a taxi pre-booked and at the said time we walked down and overtook all the people waiting for a taxi, a few people were stressed out by this but the staff explained that we had booked our ride 24 hours ago. The drive is long, it takes an hour to reach KLIA but it was a smooth one. We were dropped off in front of the terminal near the Premium Check-in area. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps8d95f93b.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps7b5b5379.jpg We checked in for our flights to NRT on MH88 and on to LAX on JAL. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps076d816c.jpg Bags were tagged all the way through to Los Angeles where we would pick our bags and spend the day before flying on to Papeete. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps0947f021.jpg |
After a quick check-in we were directed to the immigration booth and were advised that the Golden Lounge was closed for refurbishment and that we should use the Regional Lounge.
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps38e5a22e.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psf9dd08a7.jpg Everyone going through KLIA have seen these amazing planes ! always nice to see such a great collection ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psdae8b484.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps50b41812.jpg We were then off to the lounge. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pse4f666b5.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps92181e59.jpg The lounge was PACKED ! as their own Satellite lounge was closed and they were using another lounge, most people preferred to use the Regional Lounge… We managed to get a table near the food area, so lots of passage near us. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psc46b0f21.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps8e95a9e1.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps179725c0.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps5da80211.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psfdefa330.jpg We weren't too hungry, I took some soup with croutons and air soda. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps50e8efdc.jpg The reading material available in the lounge. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps6c0e2730.jpg There is a spa available in the lounge should you want to have some "me" time. I didn't check the prices. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps99a1aea2.jpg A few minutes before the boarding time we left the lounge to go to our gate. KLIA is a huge airport. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psb1dc6196.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psffaf2ad7.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps4306c3db.jpg Our gate opened when we arrived and we were let in quickly being Business Class customers. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps38fe5c2e.jpg This is the only picture of our aircraft 9M-MRA http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pscba63c1a.jpg |
The crew then lays down the trays for the snack.
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps4c07c859.jpg Malaysia Airlines signature dish ! Satay !!! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps402efc18.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps4e8647e3.jpg Not a lot of people eating so the crew is offering seconds ! YUM ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psf9a0b215.jpg Just after I am finish eating we have just left Vietnam and I'll try to have a nap. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pse3dd2d21.jpg 2 hours before we land in Japan the lights are back on and the crew starts the breakfast service and start by offering a fruit juice or smoothie. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps95ae8ddd.jpg My breakfast tray. We were offered a choice of cereal or yoghurt. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps2aa94de3.jpg We were then served our hot dish. On MH website they offer the possibility to pre-order your main course and that's what we did. It wasn't clear if we were going to have a dinner or breakfast dish and all that was offered on their website for flights out of KUL were main courses for lunch or dinner… This is what I had ordered, delicious but couldn't eat it all as it was breakfast time and yet very early ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps383f3135.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps782ee34d.jpg And my partner's dish which he didn't even touch to the huge disappointment of our cabin attendant. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps5be88ba1.jpg We are nearly there ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pse70a9a45.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psbd9836e5.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps7bcc4ed3.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps298be8d4.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...pse2202232.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps13fec55c.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps97efc902.jpg This is Japan ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps18f65ebc.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps30c8b2bd.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps4290eb95.jpg |
And we've landed !
http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps93a9d0eb.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psd300cde7.jpg While we are taxiing towards our gate I take time to take pictures of the reading material. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps5312ab30.jpg The fleet and the route network. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps08b246c9.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps55b6bb39.jpg Jetstar Japan http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps0825047d.jpg JAL's new colors... http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps7206d745.jpg and the old ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps76a69cec.jpg Here is our gate ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psfed1b0d6.jpg When we deplane, a JAL ground attendant is waiting for us and takes us to the transit counters where they check our paperwork and onward flight. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps18a107b6.jpg This will cause us to lose a good hour and a half as the queue is huge at immigration now and we are tired ! after a long time queueing we get out, no bags to collect. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps97560e7a.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps6fb61093.jpg We get landside, buy a couple of water bottles and go to the bus stops to catch our shuttle to the Narita Day house Hotel. http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psbb1b0ff2.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psa6990cca.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps480a01d3.jpg http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psda208c09.jpg Our resting area for the next 4 hours ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...ps7a51dcf4.jpghttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psb4a2c9a7.jpg No room service but they had vending machine ! http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/d...psc7d30a69.jpg |
Thanks Ive enjoyed reading and will be taking a trip from LAX to DPS at the end of the month..
|
Thanks for the report. But why din the airlines give you the amenity kit?
|
Thanks for the excellent trip report. We took the same flight on Jan 5 on our way back to the US from KUL. Overall, our experience was similar and it was a good flight. A couple of points to add:
1) They do hand out a Tumi Amenity Kit on the KUL NRT segment. The package is nice although the contents weren't anything too special in our view 2) The lounge in the Satellite Terminal is open. We spent about 2 hours in it and its a decent lounge but still appeared to be in startup mode. It was also pretty crowded between 830 and 1030pm. We enjoyed some of the food (good variety although the quality was inconsistent, the noodles and the ice cream were the highlights for us), and our son enjoyed the kids area. The wifi was a bit slow and recharging plugs could have been more easily available. |
