What do you guys think is the best trip report ever?

eightblack's trip reports are also very good and, quite frankly, hilarious.

Eighblack family holday and 8 bottles of dom in F both equal first for me

eightblack's saga to get to an EK flight out of JFK that went nowhere for two days.

Any trip report by eightblack,macabus,moomba and sometimes blackmamba and ironmanjt

+1. While I've enjoyed scores of Trip Reports over the years, none has come close to eightblack's Holiday 2010 saga. It was simply perfect!

There are alot of fine writers here, but my vote goes to anything by eightblack who combines great writing with wicked humour to marvelous effect. ^^

Best ever was Eight Bottles of Dom, followed closely by just about any Seat 2A trip report.

Eightblack getting snowed in at the EK JFK lounge is an honorable mention.

That said...no way to compete with the humour of eightblack - absolutely hysterical and talented writer.

Personally, I prefer a straight forward report. Not too much nostalgia for bygone days or too much abstract humor so I'm going to submit a Wild Card for entry:

That WAS a great and memorable report as well. ^ I just couldn't remember the title or the OP. I wonder why she got suspended from FT.

Anything by Eightblack.. I always have to keep from sipping any drink as surely the next sentence I will spit it all over the keyboard because I am laughing hysterically

Although in a more serious vein anything by @seat2a, @rosscali, @violist, or @loosecannon is definitely worth a read. And @kiwiflyer and Lucky.

+1 anything by Seat 2A. Preferably printed out and read in at least C while airborne.

I loved olafman's 5th grade around the world.

The bottles of Dom was hilarious but also enjoyed a lot of others by less than frequent posters too.

Matthandy writes terrific reports and eightblack clearly needs his own reality show.

Eightblack is a genius with his writing style.

8 Bottles of Dom was just the most legendary FT TR ever.

Agreed, Seat 2A's reports are my favourites for the variety of transport and mix of luxury and budget travel on the same trip.

I think there are many excellent trip reports here that it is not easy to pick one Best Ever report.

I personally always envy those who can write good stories with photos.

Seat 2As are always good. In fact his were the first ones I read when I came to this forum.

Add me to this list of all mentioned above. Gotta add olafman to the list for his families epic year long journey. Definitely enjoyed that read and sad when the trip was over!

eightblack's Christmas saga and his two days at JFK... He deserves his own reality show.

I was just thinking: how about we have FT Thanksgiving fundraiser. We will collect enough $$ for him to take the entire family in Y from SIN to FNT for Christmas (to visit De-Friggin-Troit). We get him non-upgradeable tickets. And we route him through blizzarded JFK. Sort of combining family travel and coping with mother nature. I bet the resulting TR make the NYT Best Seller list :D.

Seat 2A for sure. That picture of his cabin and living room in Alaska is great. I don't know what he looks like but I can picture him in that cabin...looks so cozy!

Eightblack 2nd place. He is one of a kind!

But I love ALL trip reports and appreciate the time and effort they take.

Well, back to watching March Madness while checking out new trip reports.

eightblack's TRs for sure. Worth going back for a reread. I'd have to go back and read all 10 again if I had to pick one, but lines like:
provide a glimmer but don't come close to doing the entire TR justice.

The comments in the thread of a eightblack TR seem to indicate the rest of the readers world, no matter how important stops. His TR's probably cause collective lost productivity equal to the GDP of a small country.

No one seems to have mentioned them yet, but UA_Flyer's Photo trip reports are some of my favorites. He gets absolutely incredible photos, often just using an iPhone. Doesn't even need color to convey the atmosphere and sense of a place. They're amazing!

I am very flattered by all the comments, however I am but a hack compared to the likes of Seat2a (his reports are nothing short of outstanding). And Macabus' 8 bottles is still one of my all time favourites.

matthandy's photography and words are simply amazing and olafman's family holiday demonstrated great courage and was a joy to read.

As far as travelling companions, Moomba and SFO777 are on the top of my list - I just know they would be great fun to set sail with. They write superbly...

And bingbongboy (a regular over on the BA board) took out this years honours and jointly won the BA Trip Report for 2011 (with matthandy). He did a fantastic job.
