Somehow I completely missed this. Sorry about that! Insofar as milestone flights, I actually wrote an entire trip report (a short one) about the process. Rather than list mine, it might be easier to simple link you to the report. You'll find it right HERE.

Last month I flew my 1,000th recorded flight. I started keeping records in April of 2002 (beginning what I call the Frequent Flyer Era (FFE).

Flight 1,000: August 29 US Dash-8-100 PHL-SWF. It was also a New Route/New Airport (SWF) so that was at least something!

Sometimes I wish that I had kept a log of all my flights in my life, but I've flown so much as a kid that this would simply be impossible. I could start now, but then I'd wonder about all the flights I had forgotten to write down. Or I could do the work to remember them.

Or I could just not care & enjoy my future flights anyways without worrying about writing them down! :)

Funny that you had international upgrades on DL before you had domestic ones, as a Silver that has to be a really rare fact.

Tall Travel Dude Aug 14, 2013 7:16 pm

That's really cool that you recorded all your flights. I have no idea how many I've taken (my first one was SEA>ANC when I was <1 yo back in 1968). I've probably flown a few hundred, but who knows. I wish I recorded them all. It would have brought back great memories.

RussianTexan Aug 14, 2013 9:13 pm

I'm not sure if I want to keep track of my flights or not. I guess I could go look in my Gmail account for all of my airline tickets since 2004, but.....eh. I dunno.

edit: That might be an interesting project on a night when I'm super bored. Hmmmm....

JVPhoto Aug 14, 2013 10:15 pm

I don't remember my flights as a kid in the late 80s/early 90s when we would fly from California to Hawaii or Switzerland. But as a "traveling adult" I would say it was one of the first few UA 787 Dreamliner flights that they were traveling between the hubs. I specifically went from EWR to IAH because I wanted to fly on the 787. A few days before the flight out I got an automated call saying they changed the aircraft type blah blah...was pretty let down, but hey I saw some old friends in Houston and spent a crazy election night in the hotel lobby of the Icon Hotel. On the leg home when I got up to the gate I looked out the window and thought...well wait, THAT plane looks pretty spiffy....low and behold it was the 787!

Later this year I'll be on my first Global First flight, early next year my first trans-pacific flight and later on in the summer A380.
